That’s the point. In the aftermath of recent events, the American people spoke out against DEI (Didn’t Earn It) hires. Trump rejected identity politics, and picked the person he thinks is best for the job, irrespective of their sex, color, etc. We’re returning to a meritocracy.

He picked the best person for the job. He picked someone who grew up in a terrible situation and in poverty. He picked a veteran. He picked a well educated person who got to the US Senate on his merits.
Vance is married to an Indian woman, I beleve.

Think about it - which of the potential VP choices would you choose to get sworn in as President in the event, God forbid, that President Trump actually were assassinated. More importantly, who would you trust to follow through on Trumps agenda.
The rest of the guys were great, solid choices to be be VP but JD Vance would be at the top of my list to be the one to assume the presidency in the event of a crisis and follow in Trumps foot steps.

Vance isn’t Trump’s running mate because he’s the most qualified.
He’s not more qualified than anyone else on Trump’s list.
Vance was picked because he could check the right boxes.

Also, he and Trump probably hit it off. That’s how VPs are picked.
