Did the Assassin's Rifle Have a Scope On It or Not?
Nikos1121

I'm trying to get a straight answer on this. I've heard two podcasters say that the would-be assassin's gun had an iron site, meaning NO SCOPE.

Yet, there are no official photos anywhere of the actual rifle, like we had with Oswald's.

My grandkids, 10 and 12, are deer hunters. I don't go out with them anymore, but my son does.

It's not easy to get within 150 yards of your prey, but if you do and you have a scope on your rifle, even my grandkids will produce a kill shot 9 out of 10 times, if the target is stationary.

OTOH, with an iron site, i.e. without a scope, a kill shot at 150 yards is closer to 1 out 10, if at that.

I say this, because if the assassin had a scope, Trump by all rights should be dead, and the only explanation would be pure luck or in my opinion divine intervention.

DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE IF THE RIFLE HAD A SCOPE?

PLEASE, DON'T POST GOOGLE SEARCH PHOTOS THAT PURPORT TO BE THE ACTUAL RIFLE, AS SOME PHOTOS OUT THERE DO NOT HAVE A SCOPE ON THEM, BUT ARE NOT LISTED AS THE OFFICIAL RIFLE.

Asking the hunters out there for comments here.

All I know is I’m not trusting a thing that comes out of Brandon’s executive branch agencies.

For an AR with a zeroed scope, a head shot at 200 yards is easy peasy. For a red dot or iron sights, a head shot at 200 years is still doable, body shots easy.

Magnum, I knew you’d know the answer.

Therefore, this points to sheer SS incompetence to let a guy get that close esp if he had a scope on his rifle.

I think then you agree, a scoped AR at 150 yards is easy even for a 10 year old.

My kids were plinking McDonald’s happy meal toys at 50 yards when they were under 10. AR-15, iron sights. It’s an incredibly easy shot.

God’s hand was in this. Between his timely head tilt and people yelling at the shooter on the roof making him rush his shot, Donald Trump is still with us. Praise God!!!

You will know nothing (or only what we tell you) and like it!

Can we not be weird, today?

It will all come out, and frankly, endless discussions of how easy it is to kill someone isn’t particularly edifying.

I’ve heard iron sights but no images or verification as of yet.

Was it an AR?
Did it have a scope?
Did it have a can/ suppressor?

Lots of questions need to be answered...

TO ME... from the audio, it sounded more like a 22 than a 223. But who knows there.

The press will do anything they can to call everything an AR. I would not be at all surprised if it were a .22 that looked like an AR.

I thought he was 150 yards away. That’s a much tougher shot to hit a cantaloupe.

Windage, elevation, breathing, trigger pull and nervousness would all have a factor in missing the target.

Don't forget, if reports are true, he was confronted by a LEO who climbed to the roof then retreated moments before the kid began shooting.

It’s 137 meters an easy shot with iron sites if shooting a silhouette target. If shooting a human and it’s the first time hard to control breathing and heart rate. If a cop just climbed up a ladder to look at you I would bet adrenaline dump made it a difficult shot.

I had a Bushmaster AR-15 that I could hit a gallon jug of water at 400 yards with the stock iron sights. No joke! I didn’t think AR’s could be that accurate, but it surprised me.

Yes, The FBI. Unfortunately they cannot comment on this as it is an ongoing investigation, that is believed to take decades.

I would estimate MOST off the rack plain jane/ rack grade AR’s are probably w/in 2MOA (assuming decent ammo).

A 6” target at 100-125 yards, from prone. is not a hard shot. But, with nerves, breathing heavy and adrenalin, getting windage close. it is a different game. All bets are off.

Fo a man to have half his brain on the ground after being hit by one bullet, you have to know it couldn’t possibly be a .22.

Maybe .223 or higher.

The images and video of the shooter are inconclusive.
