The assassin who tried to kill POTUS DJT had skills as evidenced by the grouping of shots he fired from 130 yards or more with an AR. Where did he get these skills and who helped prepare him for this?
I think he shot him in the mouth. Pic seems to bear that out if you can stand dead. Their shot is maybe 30-40% longer than the shooters placements by their position, unless it was one of the dot optics guys on the bleacher (in which case it’d be a pretty bad ass offhand).
448 feet is 136 meters (~yards). I’m guessing things got lost in translation.
This was no "great" shot.
That was my first thought when I heard about it. If you can’t kill him on the debate stage, just have him killed.
Impossible. When you look at the sniper overlooks, stage and where the shooter was, the SS was closer to the assassin than the assassin was to Trump.
Competitive son shoots rifle targets that start at 300 yards and go to 1000.
It doesn’t take much skill to shoot a target at 120 yards.
I could train someone in less than a hour to make a 130 yard shot.

Yes, it is easy to hit a head-size target or animal at 130 years.
It is TOTALLY DIFFERENT when aiming at a human being!
This guy obviously was jittery and nervous, started spraying and praying. He probably could not hold the rifle still from his body shaking knowing what he was about to do and that it would cost him his life.

Totally legit that this guy could not steady on target.
Give it a rest, taking a shot at a president, with all that security, knowing you will likely die after, having apparently scaled the building first. The level of stress, anxiety and adrenaline, that is not done by some random hater.

I can hit pots and pans swinging in the breeze from 100 yards out using a lever action .357 with iron sights. I am not sure I could do it with my heart pumping fast and adrenaline rushing through my veins as I am about to assassinate the former POTUS.

It was secured. The SS counter-snipers had their sniper rifles on tripods aimed at the roofline where they killed the perp. We know this because videos show the SS counter-snipers looking in the direction of the perp and when the perp starts shooting, they shoot back without re-aiming their sniper rifles.
130 yards is not long-range.
The simple fact he got up there with a rifle and fired shots is prima facie evidence it was not "secured."
TO afraid to even ask the question? The line of site was off the chart egregious. Time people stop denying what is so obvious.
I grew up in PA, I have seen hunters get dear fever and miss 3 shots in a row at less than 100 yards. Shooting a person, let alone a president under such stress is not a Sunday afternoon hunt in mild weather!
I have been shooting rifles for over 60 years. I hold rifle, patrol rifle, shotgun, police shot, handgun instructor certificates.
I have taught many military, federal, country and local LEO’s to shoot not counting the civilians.
I have shot many 10’s of thousands of rounds, training, hunting and in competitions.
I now own and run my own defensive tactics company.
