While most politicians were quick to put out statements decrying the violence at Saturday’s rally where former president Donald Trump was shot, some Republicans, including potential Donald Trump vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance and far-right Trump-supporting firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, called out Democratic rhetoric in the aftermath.
“Today is not just some isolated incident,” Vance wrote on X. “The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump’s attempted assassination.”
“Democrats wanted this to happen,” Greene posted on X. “They’ve wanted Trump gone for years and they’re prepared to do anything to make that happen.”
She continued, calling out members of Congress who she wrote “cosponsored legislation to TERMINATE Trump’s Secret Service protection. Why would they want that? You know the reason.”
Written before it was confirmed that an audience member was killed, she continued, “Others may have been killed — innocent people that were there supporting President Trump and all they wanted was to Make America Great Again and they may have been murdered for it. Thank GOD Secret Service was there for Trump and everyone else at today’s rally.”
Both Vance and Greene are set to be speakers at this week’s Republican National Convention.

Good for them, never forget how they blamed Sarah Palin and the Tea Party for Gabby Giffords getting shot by a paranoid schizophrenic.
That’s exactly what these GOP attack dogs should be saying. They should take it one step further and start entering these statements into the Congressional record from the House and Senate floor.
They wanted him dead. But it turned out to be their nightmare scenario.
I would add MSM to the list.
What do they think is going to happen when they are out there saying “Trump is Hitler” “Trump is a threat to democracy”.
Sarah Palin’s “crosshairs” brochure was put front-and-center on MSM for a week or two after the shooting of Gabby Giffords.

Good. Playing the game at least somewhat like the other side plays it is the least they can do. I fully expect the GOP to offer their surrender shortly.
I think that some Democrats wanted this to happen? Hate to say this. They have thrown everything at Trump and nothing has stuck.
Lets hear from them and let the apologies flow. Anything less is unacceptable.

I am starting to think JD Vance for VP.
I’d rather keep him in the Senate but this is way too important to have a strong backup.
When Congress reconvenes, someone needs to introduce a bill calling for the outlawing of the Democrat party.
It won’t get far, of course, but it might get a lot of minds doing a little consideration about this party that has offered Americans nothing but chaos for years.
