Speculation is swirling around President Biden’s political fate — and over who might replace him on the Democratic ticket this fall should he decide to drop out of the race.
Biden has insisted he’s in it to win it, and Vice President Harris would have the inside track on becoming the party’s standard-bearer, but Democratic concerns are growing that his candidacy could cost them the White House and House majority this fall.
Though a highly anticipated Thursday evening press conference after the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., was seen as a better performance for Biden than in recent weeks, the president still stumbled at several points with multiple notable gaffes.
The number of sitting lawmakers calling on the president to withdraw has grown since, and scrutiny is rising on the Democrats who could replace him on the ticket.
Here’s a look at the leading contenders:
Vice President Harris
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
California Gov. Gavin Newsom
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

I call that “THE LIST OF LOSERS”.
KAMALA would wind up in Fort Marcy Park within 9 days
The list is surprisingly short.
Gov. Witmer has already said she won’t be in the running for president, at least not now. I guess she doesn’t want to be the Sacrificial Lamb who loses to Donald Trump, since he looks to be the likely winner in November.
They're in big trouble if they dump Cackles.
I predict it will be a Harris/Beshear ticket, and the press will give more coverage to Beshear as a 'moderate' and hide Cackles.
Obviously.
It will be Andy Beshear, governor of KY, and Cackles won't be the one who makes the choice.
I pray you are correct. Hang in there, Brandon!
Andrew Yang might also be a formidable candidate
So the commie RATS want to go from bad to worse. Nice.
If Joe Sh*tbag Biden drops out, I think Hairass will select a “NAtional Unity” candidate for VEEP who is a liberal Republican that is too old to run in 2028. My guess would be Romney or Murkowski
If I had to suffer under the administrations of any of those people, I'd take Beshear or Shapiro. They'd probably not destroy the country.
But Beshear is too white and too male and Shapiro is too Jewish so they're not going to get the pick.
Same for Dean Philips who pretty much ran as "Joe Biden without the dementia and crackhead son."
Interesting idea.
It’d have to be Romney and he would do it.
Not Moochie?
And with an eye on 2028, I bet more than a few of these Dems will avoid having any part beyond loyalty now. Newsome, for example, has been the most loyal Biden supporter of all.
Losers all.
We’re screwed if any of them get in.
Which of those know jack about conducting foreign policy? Bootiegig will pretend to, since he was a lieutenant in the Navy Reserves, but he is also the least competent person alive.
Lack of knowledge and experience is just what the IC/Deep State wants, since that will make the puppet more dependent.
In terms of electability, it’s a null set. The Dems might be looking for someone willing to take the loss for them (i.e., with no future ambitions/prospects to ruin.)
Or, we could go without a VP for 6 months.
Until the 25th Amendment, though, when a vice presidential vacancy popped up, the new president (sometimes the old VP) just left that No. 2 chair open until a new election. John Tyler, who took over for William Henry Harrison (who died of pneumonia just 31 days into his term), never had a VP in almost four years as president. Lyndon Johnson, who took over for John F. Kennedy in November 1963, was without a VP for more than a year until Hubert H. Humphrey filled the spot after the 1964 election.
Even after the 25th Amendment, filling a vice presidential opening hasn’t been particularly snappy. It’s happened twice since the 25th’s passage in ‘67.
The office of vice president was empty for a couple of months in 1973 after Nixon’s vice president, Spiro Agnew, resigned, until Gerald Ford was cleared to fill the spot.
When Nixon later quit in August 1974, and Ford became president, he had no vice president for more than four months, until Nelson Rockefeller finally was confirmed by Congress.
My vote is for Pete butt plug just because it’s so freaking funny the whole thing
