Under new ownership, Pan American World Airways has announced the first in a series of planned themed journeys that harken back to its heyday.
For decades, the Pan Am brand and its distinctive blue and white logo symbolized the excitement and elegance of air travel's golden age.
Even after the airline ceased operations in 1991, memories of its attentive service, gourmet meals, impeccably dressed crew, and spacious seating endure.

I hope they can make it.
I want to fly on the Pan Am Clipper from Dinner Key to Rio.
I stayed at the TWA Hotel at JFK. It was pretty cool to go back to 1963
DEI and brawls will surely be a problem.
Railways
In 1998, Guilford Transportation Industries purchased Pan American World Airways and all related naming rights and intellectual properties.[145][150] The railway was later operated as Pan Am Railways.[145] In 2022, the company was acquired by CSX Corporation.
They became a poorly run railway.
My boss bought a lifetime Executive Club pass on TWA around 1980. I think he paid only $300 (maybe $600) at the time. That’s about $1,100 to $2,200 today.
TWA went out of business in 2001. I’m not sure if American Airlines acknowledged their TWA lifetime pass perks.
Lesson learned: “Lifetime” can be short in the airline industry.
Re-regulate the airlines and bring back old-school Pan Am.
Time to bring back the elegance of air travel. Relegate the pajama-wearing caliber clientele to Southwest.
Braniff needs to come back. My dad used to fly for them.
My first flight ever was on Pan Am to London.
:-)
We have a couple of those from estate sales! They still had the original, unopened toiletries in them.
One of my favorite memes is a couple in coach, about 1955 or so. White table cloth. Full meal. Man in a suit. Woman in a dress wearing white gloves. Very "posh".
The caption is "If this is how travel is now, I can only imagine it 70 years from now!!"
I want to see Bonanza Airlines come back. Of course it would not be the same without the Fairchild F-27 turboprops.
LOL if they only knew...
XD XD.. flying now is like riding a Greyhound bus.
I’m glad they stopped giving out toothbrushes, I was worried about getting shivved coming out the bafroom.

They’d have to have a no-class section with aisle urinals for a lot of American filth.
There’s a TWA aircraft at DFW - JFK may have a PAN AM plane as well.
Gaddafi killed the airline, thanks to his destruction of PanAm 103 over Lockerbie. However, without the glamorous international routes, you gotta wonder about the point of this revival. PanAm was the flag carrier. This airline is like a bonsai tree compared to its full-size counterpart.
