My boss bought a lifetime Executive Club pass on TWA around 1980. I think he paid only $300 (maybe $600) at the time. That’s about $1,100 to $2,200 today.

TWA went out of business in 2001. I’m not sure if American Airlines acknowledged their TWA lifetime pass perks.

Lesson learned: “Lifetime” can be short in the airline industry.
