It seems to me that it shouldn’t be hard at all to get farm workers to be tested. If they are positive, it probably means that their herd or flock has the virus, and farmers would want to know that as soon as possible.

I think you are being sarcastic, but just the opposite is true. This variant of the bird flu doesn't seem to kill the birds like past variants. But the expert's solution is to kill all of the sick birds and all of the other birds on the same farm, e.g. help put the farmer out of business. This is like killing all of the humans that caught COVID to stop COVID.

I believe we should let most diseases run their course. It strengthens the host and lets the virus migrate into a less serious variant. Please remember that the Spanish flu is still with us, it has just modified itself into being much less lethal.
