Trump should talk about what he is for and not attack Biden. About the conviction he should simply say he was vetted and found competent to stand trial.
Biden won’t be able to respond to anything in a coherent manner... he’ll be regurgitating the talking points he’s memorizing.
That’s a good plan. Hope Trump does something to this effect. My big concern about Trump is him getting riled up and emotional. He’s got plenty to be angry about (all Americans do) about what Biden and his party have done to America. But Trump needs to stay calm and focus on Biden’s horrible record and point what he will do to help our nation. The key point should be that Biden has utterly failed to protect the territory of the USA and its citizens. Trump should mention the names of those killed by illegal aliens under Biden’s watch.
Nobody should quote factual material in any debate with Joe Biden, he will just claim it is a lie anyway. Just lure Joe into making some kind of definitive statement regarding the way he thinks things ought to be, then inquire of Joe just how he means to make this future happen. As he puts forth his proposals, keep encouraging him by saying “You may be right.” The idea is never to get confrontational, but let him ramble on, entangling himself in his own narrative.
At some point in the explanation, Joe will just come apart and go splatt right there on stage. At that point, Trump may say, “Joe, Joe, are you all right?” in the most solicitous manner possible.
Just give Joe enough rope, and he will hang himself.
I would like to see Trump ask Biden to recant his assertion made 4 years ago on a similar debate stage about Hunter’s laptop, which Biden said was “garbage” and Russian information, now that its authenticity has been independently verified by numerous news organizations, including WaPo and the NYT, and has been used by Biden’s OWN DOJ as evidence in successfully prosecuting Hunter on the gun charges.
I don’t know what you expect that Trump would say about J6. If they bring it up, he shouldn’t get into conspiracy theories.
All Trump has to say about J6 is that
1) The only felony the vast majority were charged with was misapplied and will probably be thrown out by the Supreme Court. Other than that, most were only charged with trespassing - a misdemeanor. A tiny minority did something violent.
2) Zero police officers were killed by Trump supporters. The fake news media says they killed five officers. One was erroneously reported to have been hit in the head (by an anonymous source in a NY Times story). He died of a stroke that evening after texting a friend. The other four deaths were suicides at various times.
He could make other points like the media and Democrats calling it an “insurrection” is ridiculous, but I think he should limit it to those two.
If I were Trump I would never have agreed to be a part of this farce in the first place. At this point Trump should be prepared to walk out if he ends up debating the “moderators” and/or fighting the mute switch.
As for going “easy” on the corrupt degenerate Biden the hell with that. I can guarantee Biden will come after Trump hard. If Trump sits there and takes it like the simp Paul Ryan did Trump will lose.

Trump is making the same mistake he made in 2020 - allowing lefties to “moderate” the debate - so he then has to debate the Biden-supporting, anti-Trump moderator as well.
He should have demanded Tucker Carlson moderate the debate - as he did with DeSantis vs. Newsom.

Many people will only be watching to see if fake president Biden will be able to string two thoughts together. And so every answer Real President Trump gives should have a question or criticism attached that Biden will have to answer or leave unanswered.
Most of the swing vote is not going to care about 2020 and using this as an opportunity to go back is not helpful. Instead a statement like we need to ensure the American people have faith in free an fair elections can be brought up.
To be honest I would have Trump put on his Bill Clinton act when asked about the felony. Terms like hatred and politcal persecution only brings about more hatred and political persecution.
The moderator will most likely bring up Jan 6th. The answer should be I support the peoples right to peacefully protest and will never support political persecution of a political opponent such as the Biden admin has done.
Steer the answer to be about inflation, house prices, egg prices, fuel prices and war. Making immigration safe for everyone with a big wide door and a long high wall and Trump can't lose the debate.

The other thing he needs to remember is don’t talk to the moderator. Don’t talk to the opponent, talk directly to the audience and make sure you stay on message to the audience.
