All Hell Breaks Loose At College World Series Game Between Texas A&M Fans And Florida Dugout
Daily Caller ^ | June 16, 2024 | ANDREW POWELL - SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT BLOGGER

Now this is what you want to see in your rivalries!

Courtesy of a weather delay, Saturday night’s College World Series game between Texas A&M and Florida got off to a late start. Well, in the process of this, way too much free time got created for fans as they were waiting for things to kick off (with alcohol, mind you), and it resulted in a couple of Texas A&M supporters getting kicked out of the ballpark. Things didn’t get started until 10:15 p.m. CT, and with some fans already being drunk, it didn’t take very long for things to get tense.

In the second inning, the Aggies were holding a 1-0 lead, but stealing the spotlight during that particular time was an argument that popped off between A&M fans and the Gators dugout. According to one social media post, Texas A&M fans shot heckles at Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, which sparked up his assistant coaches to fire back some words.

Just a good ol’ fashioned SEC rivalry, boys!

"None in baseball or basketball."

Correction: A&M women basketball in 2011:

I assumed he meant men's. My list did include women's basketball.

Gators are still alive!

Hopefully we’ll get a rematch with A&M.

Didn’t they just lose to NC State?

My Hogs have it worse.

1 football in 1969. 1 basketball in 1994. Runner up in 1995.

Don’t remember baseball.

But lots and lots of Track and Field.

You should have won it in 2018, if not for that dropped foul ball.

I was screaming at the TV. SOMEONE CALL THE BALL!

This year we went 3 for 11 at the end quickly eliminated in the SEC and Regional tournament.

With the #1 pitcher in the country.

Even though Arky beat Florida in that tournament, I really felt bad for them for that.

I saw the score wrong. Fla beat NC State today.

When did volleyball or cricket become major sports anywhere?

I don’t know about volleyball, but FYI cricket is the world’s 2nd most popular sport in the world behind only soccer. A big game in India will have a billion viewers.

It’s a great game with many similarities to baseball.

The biggest difference is in the scoring. a MLB game probably averages about 8-10 runs combined for both teams for a game that lasts 2.5 hours.

If cricket is played in a format that lasts 2.5-3.0 hours, the score for EACH TEAM is about 175. So, a LOT more scoring than in baseball and a high percentage of “pitches” are hit.

Yes, cricket is huge in India, the UK and some countries affiliated with the UK (British Commonwealth). But baseball is actually bigger in Japan, Taiwan, the Dominican Republic and a diverse set of other countries than it is in the United States.

Plus cricket is not known to have the same level of yahoo fans as soccer. Not even close. So there's that.

Advantage Aggies. UK must first beat Florida then A&M twice to advance.

As long as FSU doesn’t win it, I’m good.

Should have saved some of those runs for A&M.

Oh well, it was a great run.

Tennessee vs. A&M in the Championship Series.

Not as tough to watch as today’s game.

And I just heard through the grapevine, Billy’s out on Monday.

I say appoint Spurrier as interim AD and let him pick the coach.
