I don’t know about volleyball, but FYI cricket is the world’s 2nd most popular sport in the world behind only soccer. A big game in India will have a billion viewers.

It’s a great game with many similarities to baseball.

The biggest difference is in the scoring. a MLB game probably averages about 8-10 runs combined for both teams for a game that lasts 2.5 hours.

If cricket is played in a format that lasts 2.5-3.0 hours, the score for EACH TEAM is about 175. So, a LOT more scoring than in baseball and a high percentage of “pitches” are hit.

Yes, cricket is huge in India, the UK and some countries affiliated with the UK (British Commonwealth). But baseball is actually bigger in Japan, Taiwan, the Dominican Republic and a diverse set of other countries than it is in the United States.

Plus cricket is not known to have the same level of yahoo fans as soccer. Not even close. So there's that.
