I don't have that kind of money to spend đ
To: ChicagoConservative27
No it is not worth that money.
At the least of things, when you pull it out to pay for stuff you are telling the people around you that you can afford this card.

"Keep reading as we share the valuable benefits that may make the $695 annual fee seem cheap compared to other credit cards that don't offer as many benefits."
Yeah right.

Airport lounges available on that card suck...and very few. Much better options for us jet-setters.

The Southwest Airlines credit card is the best. I always get my n the A boarding group and get lots of free flights.

It’s only worth it if you get everything you purchase with it at 1/2 off, or free.

As a business owner, 100% yes.
As an employee or retiree, maybe not.

I prefer Discover Card. We charge just about everything on it, pay our balance in full every month, and get several hundred dollars in cash back each year.

No, it definitely is not worth it. The customer service is terrible and they do not fulfill their promises of benefits. Not to be relied upon - better to stay away from this card.

Is there a $695 swag bag every year?

I had an AMEX card, in the 1980’s. I cannot recall much, because I was so soured on the notion of credit cards, that I vowed I would never do that again, and I have been successful, to the minute you read this.
To: metmom
I just read that some major online merchant just stopped accepting AmEx because their
seller percentage was too high.
Full disclosure: I cut up my AmEx card 40+ years ago for sticking me with some "travel magazine" without asking. It was 90% ads, and they had the gall to demand that I pay a $35 subscription fee for it. Never again.

Upper end Visa cards, from what I hear.

In my experience, Amex Platinum has access to the most lounges both in the US and abroad. Capital One has one, working on two, and Chase has 3, I think. All 3 cards offer Priority Pass.
In my opinion, if you can’t take advantage of the benefits, then it isn’t worth it. However, if you can, then it is worth it.

We have two credit cards and they are with regional banks.
We don’t need any more. Credit is a trap anyways. It’s way too easy to over spend and get hammered with fees. What a waste of money.
