...but, heck, it's Saturday night.
Has anyone here been interested in Bigfoot/Sasquatch, or seen one, or know someone who claims to have seen one?
Never saw it, but it could run at full speed thru the thick woods in pitch dark, sounding like a bull moose at a full run, snapping and pushing over saplings.
After a while of it, the park had called the state police, which tried to set up a perimeter to stop it. That's when the big Boulder was tossed thru the side of a cottage we were taking refuge inside.
The state cops moved us to a different area about 10 miles away after that. Never heard any outcome of it all.
Has anyone mentioned Esau yet?
Nope.
LONG before any television programs, I was in parochial school - I’m remembering about grade 6-7, age 11 - when I discovered several books on Sasquatch in the county library. There were no photos, no illustrations, just story after story of personal accounts/encounters/sightings and native legends.
I was hooked. Later I saw the Patterson Gimlin film, and the next year saw the documentary Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot.
Despite many disappointments over the ensuing decades, I very much enjoyed the vicarious experience of the team in the series Finding Bigfoot, the best I’ve seen to date. However, the lack of tangible results from the series disappointed me greatly. I hope they bring the series back for more investigations.
I believe - with every atom of my intellect - but have never had an ‘experience’.
Yikes!
Pretty hard to experience that and just say it was nothing .
“No strange hairs have ever been found.”

That is patently false. FYI:

I had higher hopes when I saw the number of comments…
…but then I read them.
Don’t regret trying.
Can you expound on the strange things they have seen?
“Yet Sasquatch also seems to be something more than a simple flesh and blood creature.”
According to the official military officer assigned to investigate it, we have some kind of technologically sophisticated “other” on the planet, which is between 50,000 to a million years beyond us, they appear to pop into and out of another dimension we cannot access, and their ships appear to actually warp space and time in a bubble around them, as they make 8,000mph right angle turns.
If they wanted to tour our woodlands, like a park, I would not be surprised they would don a technology-fueled costume to try to look like a scary, massive biped, which belonged in the woods. That is how I would do it. Bears would leave me alone, if people saw me nobody would believe them, and I would have all the physical joy of trekking on foot through the woods.
I would be more surprised if they found they were some flesh and blood hominid which had a breeding population in the woods.
He might have been telling a tall story to get out of work, or the state thinks they are real, or it was some bigshot local farmer that they wanted to appease.
I did some work for a gal that claimed that she had recorded one that would go through her garbage periodically years ago. She said she got its vocalizations on her cam-corder. But her daughter taped a tv show over it.
Les Stroud (Survivorman) did numerous shows about Sasquatch. Went out with various bigfoot hunters. Was/is very skeptical about bigfoot and the hunters. But went with an open mind. He had something “odd” happen on one of his early survivorman shows which led him later on to explore the issue.
The last episode that I recall he did on it was where he went with a friend to a place where bigfoot encounters had occurred before. They went in alone and telling nobody.
“Okay - so we got our trip on video so far - setting up camp, the general setting. We got a fire going, going to have some food, play the guitar and harmonica a bit, and then get into the tent. Just a couple of backpackers.
And here's where you are going to have to trust me. Folks say that Sasquatch won't come around if you have cameras going. Or other electronics. So we're going to turn that all off for the night. And we'll report back what happens.”
IIRC they heard footsteps of something large walking around their tent. They got out of their tent and could see nothing. They got the fire going again and stayed up for awhile. Then, just out of the firelight off in the forest they saw a red(?) orb of light - maybe several?? They watched it for over an hour as it floated around. I can't recall if it left or they just went back into the tent. I don't think they heard the foot steps again.
Les still wasn't convinced on what he heard or saw. IIRC he was positive that it wasn't somebody pranking them as they had been careful not to tell anyone exactly where they were going and had taken care not to be followed.
He could have just made up the story of course, but from what I have watched of his shows, especially his “Director Commentaries” I don't think so. He comes across as honest and straight forward.
Perhaps the spookiest recording is below. Some hunters that heard several Sasquatch “talking” to each other. IIRC it has been analyzed and is not believed to be synthetic or altered.
“The Sierra Camp” From 1971 recording. A good introduction, recording of the sounds start at 3:30 or so. Later on he also talks about seeing orbs.

I would like to believe that there are Sasquatch out there. Just something unknown and mysterious. As long as it doesn't attack me out in the woods!
I think the Ivory Billed woodpecker was spotted last year.... IIRC somewhere in Oregone or Washington.
Below is Les Stroud’s first episode from his Bigfoot series. Like I said previously he approaches it with a skeptical, but open mind.
Lots of visiting places with sightings, talking with the locals, etc. And then of course going out by himself to see what he can see.

there was a professor at Washington State University which is close to the Idaho border....I wonder if your dtr worked for him...he was a bigfoot hunter.
I have one. I keep it for a pet.
my mistake ...it was actually somewhere in Arkansas...
After reading this thread, I believe a Freeper Snipe Hunt would be a lot of fun.
There actually is a snipe (small game bird). I shot one - lucky as it was very quick and in the trees. About the size of a robin - sort of pointless. But it is a legal game bird.
But - that would be a fun Freeper Snipe Hunt too!
“I’m in New Mexico, we do chupacabras.”
Or UFO’s...
