When I was in my late teens we were terrorized by one at night during a camping trip. Bad rock throwing in the pitch black woods. No human I know of can throw a 50 pound rock over fifty feet in distance on level ground. Most nights they were around softball size and could be heard tearing thru the tree canopy on their trajectory. In the daylight we found piles of stocked up rocks like ammo piles.

Never saw it, but it could run at full speed thru the thick woods in pitch dark, sounding like a bull moose at a full run, snapping and pushing over saplings.

After a while of it, the park had called the state police, which tried to set up a perimeter to stop it. That's when the big Boulder was tossed thru the side of a cottage we were taking refuge inside.

The state cops moved us to a different area about 10 miles away after that. Never heard any outcome of it all.

Pretty hard to experience that and just say it was nothing .

I’ve heard of them throwing rocks, knocking on trees and houses, and shaking trees...
