The Wrong Republican won in NV yesterday.

Sam Brown won the GOP primary for Senate in NV. He ran against Jeff Gunter. Brown is a military veteran who was seriously wounded while serving in Afghanistan and was seriously burned over 30% of his body. Gunter is a physician.

According to Wayne Allyn Root, whose radio show is based locally here in Vegas, Brown is a RINO who was backed by Mitch McConnell, while Gunter is a 100% MAGA Trump supporter.

Unfortunately, at the end of Trump's Vegas rally on Sunday, he gave his endorsement to Brown, not Gunter. Root said, prior to the election, that he asked Trump to endorse Gunter. He speculated that Trump might have previously promised to endorse Brown and may have been promised a large financial contribution if he did so.

However, Root stated last night that should Brown win, it was still better to have a Republican in the Senate, even if he wasn't a hard-core MAGA supporter vs. the current Senator, far-left Democrat Jackie Rosen who votes 100% with Biden.

That is the common approach of major endorsers, from political figures to local newspapers because no one with clout wants to get tagged with the stink of having an endorsement without value. As the admonition from legendary Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley supposedly went, “Don’t back no losers.”

I can’t argue with that but it all boils down to the fact that we NEED the majority in the senate.

Exactly right.

Individual senators don't have much power, but if a senator can help get the majority, then, it's a lot more useful than the power of any individual senator. MAGA or RINO or super-conservative is not where the power exists. It's having the majority that counts.

It’s been a bitter lesson to many republicans, including me. Sometimes, being ‘correct’ about an issue or a campaign approach is not enough to be elected. Sometimes, one has to work with the majority of voters, who may hold different values and beliefs, and are not inclined to change those values or beliefs before the voting commences.

The crux of the issue is why do people hold different values and beliefs?

Number one factor is media liars creating the illusion that certain ideas are "majority" opinion, when in fact they represent a very small fringe minority.

The Asch conformity experiments demonstrated that 80% of people will claim to believe something *IF* they think the majority believes it too.

The Media-liars create the illusion that liberal ideas are popular, and you are weird if you don't agree. This has an effect on the electorate, and causes it to skew way further to the left then it would naturally be without the propaganda pumped into society every day through mass communications.

I keep telling people. Fix the media-liars problem, and you can fix all the other problems in the nation.

Not sure gunter would have won even with PDJT endorsement. Thinking the brown zombie ad may have done him in. But, as you know, harry’s hand from beyond the grave will guide the union pukes to vote for rosen. Between vegas and reno, she’ll likely win again. Useless panderbear.

Or will he be another Cruz, stab him in the back.

How did Cruz stab Trump in the back? My recollection is he supported Trump in the Senate, even after Trump did him dirty in the primary of 2016.

If you only endorse someone who’s already going to win, doesn’t that mean you’ll have the same makeup of Congress that exist, even if you weren’t involved?

What’s one RINO, more or less? The republican’ts are about 80% RINO as it is.

Correct. I'll take a RINO who supports the MAGA agenda 75% of the time over a demonrate who will support it 0%.

Look at who Pennsylvania has in the U.S. Senate now. Even Arlen Specter would look great by comparison.

As long as Brown doesn’t turn out to be another Ben Sasse type.

Correct. Gunter was not going to win even with Trump’s endorsememt. There’s tremendous optics in Brown running with his war disfigurement. The name of the game right now is getting cabinet picks and judges confirmed. Brown hets that accomplished whereas Rosen doesn’t.

Oz fared better in PA than any of his competitors would have. The 2022 election cycle was a disaster all around in PA.

I’m talking about a primary process where there is no GOP incumbent.

“Oz fared better in PA than any of his competitors would have.”

And we know that because?? I think the Oz candidacy split Republicans rather than unite them.

A traditional GOP candidate like McCormick didn't stand a chance in a "clown election" like the 2022 Senate election in PA. And Kathy Barnette was an empty suit who had no money to run in the general election.

Interestingly, Oz might have won that race if the only votes were case on Election Day. The longer that campaign went on, the stronger Oz got in the polls.
