The Wrong Republican won in NV yesterday.

Sam Brown won the GOP primary for Senate in NV. He ran against Jeff Gunter. Brown is a military veteran who was seriously wounded while serving in Afghanistan and was seriously burned over 30% of his body. Gunter is a physician.

According to Wayne Allyn Root, whose radio show is based locally here in Vegas, Brown is a RINO who was backed by Mitch McConnell, while Gunter is a 100% MAGA Trump supporter.

Unfortunately, at the end of Trump's Vegas rally on Sunday, he gave his endorsement to Brown, not Gunter. Root said, prior to the election, that he asked Trump to endorse Gunter. He speculated that Trump might have previously promised to endorse Brown and may have been promised a large financial contribution if he did so.

However, Root stated last night that should Brown win, it was still better to have a Republican in the Senate, even if he wasn't a hard-core MAGA supporter vs. the current Senator, far-left Democrat Jackie Rosen who votes 100% with Biden.

I'm surprised people haven't figured this out.

Trump doesn't endorse someone unless he knows that candidate is a winner. It makes no sense to endorse a MAGA loser who gets 15% of the vote in a primary.

This is why Trump has a long track record of endorsing even feckless A-holes like Mitt Romney and Mitch McConnell.

I can’t argue with that but it all boils down to the fact that we NEED the majority in the senate.

Makes me wonder what his MO is sometimes.

Can’t Drain the swamp with backstabbing rinos.

Can’t implement your agenda when RINOs like Paul Ryan and Mitch won’t assist.

an extra Freedom Caucus seat or a MAGA seat in the house makes our voice that much more powerful, and should be priority over rinos, which are debatable whether they are worse then a klansmen in that seat.

Exactly. And there’s probably no way a MAGA candidate is going to win in a state like Nevada, unfortunately.

Brown won 59% of the primary vote to 15% for Gunter.

Gunter wasn’t even close, he needs to regroup & do significantly better in his next campaign.

The most important thing in the Senate is for Rick Scott to become Majority leader to replace #itch McConnell. Start calling and putting pressure on your Republican senators to vote for Rick. A decent leader can keep the RINOs in line.

Brown is a canary in the coal mine looking for the sympathy vote. Odds are against any republican there so we might as we’ll try something different.

It’s been a bitter lesson to many republicans, including me.
Sometimes, being ‘correct’ about an issue or a campaign approach is not enough to be elected.

Sometimes, one has to work with the majority of voters, who may hold different values and beliefs, and are not inclined to change those values or beliefs before the voting commences.

Funny, when DeSantis was making it clear that he was trying to take down Trump the narrative was that he only rndorsed losers. My how things have changed.

DeSanctimonious's problem was he got in bed with the Deep-State, the Bushes, and the GOP-E.

He's not MAGA, he's a pretender.

Yeah, I think we all know how that kind of thinking has worked out for the country (spoiler: not very well). It is almost always better for the conservative to win these primaries at this point since the RINO candidates are mostly worthless Uniparty hacks.

Trump chose the Republican party as his vehicle to the Presidency in 2016, and his endorsements of other members of the Republican Party for higher offices is “par for the course.”
If the Republican Party was a conservative party, the Freedom caucus would have 150 members instead of 40 or 50 outliers that “raise hell” when it doesn’t matter.

Trump is a realist that deals with the reality of our political world. You’ll get both MAGA & some establishment types getting elected.

We have an incremental system when it comes to changes in our political order.(Unless a black swan appears)

Too bad. Primary is over. Everyone in Nevada must vote brown. The other dude was too weak to win obviously.

I've commented before, years ago, that Trump is not an ideologue. He's wobbly and often goes with the last voice he hears. The only state-level Republican present was Michael McDonald. Did he put his finger on the scale?

There were over a dozen candidates, admittedly Brown had the momentum and money for yesterday.

Trump's weekend endorsement had zero impact on Tuesday. Too late, but it did allow him to jump aboard the apparent winner. That's good politics.

Will Brown align with Trump, support him, support issues important to us? Or will he be another Cruz, stab him in the back.

Sounds like a good plan.(supporting Scott)

McTurtle and his ilk need to “go the way” of the dinosaurs.
