It was the shocking true crime that gripped Netflix subscribers who watched documentary The Parachute Murder Plot and now Channel 4 looks to retell that jaw-dropping story.
A brand new series will lay bare the incidents of the attempted murder of skydiver Victoria Cilliers by her husband Emile - over three nights with dramatic reconstructions
In April 2015, Victoria plummeted a horrifying 4,000ft at Netheravon airfield, Wiltshire, after her main and reserve parachutes failed to open.
Miraculously, although she suffered a broken spine and pelvis and fractured ribs, she did survive because she landed on freshly plough farmland.
The subsequent investigation revealed that her kit had been tampered with by her husband, Army sergeant Emile, but Victoria, a victim of coercive control, didn’t want to believe that the man she loved could be so callous – and she herself tried to cover up his heinous crime.

Anyone seen it?
Sounds like a typical episode of Columbo.
A Beatles song comes to mind....
Falling.....
Yeah, we need a 3 nite series for this.
Nothing says love like a sabotaged parachute. Channeling Dave Chappell who, like me is often a victim-blamer, I have to ask “What did she do?”
There is more background in one of the links.

Lol It sure does.
Multiple, credible, and verified reports of individuals surviving falling thousands of feet without a parachute. Probably the best known is that of a tailgunner on a British WWII bomber. He had to jump without a chute when his bomber was shotdown. He landed in several trees and a gully covered with bushes and snow. He was capatured by the Luftwaffe who verified his tale.
But I got better.
It’s going to be hard to have cliff-hanger endings for Night 1 and Night 2.
“It’s just a loose end, but I have to ask. Sir, were you anywhere near your wife’s parachute?”
Sounds like grounds for divorce.
The guy is not MAGA. Turn him lose without bond and charge him with endangering a protected plant.
Good to see she bounced back...
Some years back an Army Golden Knight had a streamer for about 3500’ and his reserve failed.
He dropped through the sky light of a hanger and stopped 5’ above the floor.
He had minor injuries and a full pant load.
5.56mm
Sounds like grounds for divorce.
I imagine that thought came at her, fast.
There was also Alan Magee, who fell 22,000 feet and went through the glass roof of a railway station. He was very badly injured but lived to nearly 85.
Lesson: Always pack your own parachute.
mark
She fell for that guy too quickly without finding out more about his life history & previous marriage.
