The rich are not like the rest of us. Whether that adage is true or not, it is becoming increasingly clear that leftists do not think as we do. They are not like the rest of us.
I am reminded of the very nice lady who brought her billing statement to our office, insisting that there was an error. She could not possibly owe anything, she said. At first, I thought she might be right, so I went over the entire record of the account with her, line by line. After each item, she agreed that the running total was correct. It was basic arithmetic: charges minus payments. When we got to the final balance, she agreed that the math was correct, but she still insisted that she could not possibly owe the balance due. Even when I asked her to show me the error, which she could not, she remained adamant that there must be a mistake — somewhere.
It was then that I understood the reality of the situation. The nice lady had never been persuadable from the beginning. Facts meant nothing to her. The only thing that meant anything to her was her “feeling.” The stated balance due just did not feel right to her, end of discussion.
When internet discussions became a popular activity in the late 1990s, I had my first in-depth discussions and debates with leftists. It was there that I discovered that there were people who could not fathom why conservatives (such as myself) hold the beliefs we do. How, they would ask, could anyone possibly be so coldhearted as to approve of the death penalty for convicted murderers, who had been afforded every right to defend themselves? But they could not see their hypocrisy in putting to death an innocent fetal child...

In 1978 I attended a commander’s briefing while working for the Division commander, to address a situation in Nicaragua to deal with Marxists. We were told by the Intel Officer that if a communist takeover is allowed to take hold for 6 years, those people educated will be us for 80 years into the future. Marxist thought is a powerful philosophy that is hostile to everything else. It literally rejects being challenged. The US military knew this 50 years ago. Today, we have become the Marxists.
First it was the Obama Marxist Ideological purges of the officer corps. Then Obama/Biden put Lloyd Austin, a former battalion commander from the 82d Abn Div into the SecDef position as the head of a Black Muslim Brotherhood friendly Akrica Corps....
Trump will have to revamp the Dept of Education, defund the colleges, and do all of this under the guise of a new depresssion.

You definitely have a point. I will modify my submission here. Generally, it is the younger people and the low-information types who can't move past their feelings. But you are correct in what you point out. I live in an 80% blue college city. These people are absolutely certain they are correct about everything and the local media, government, and university continue to tell them, in an iron clad loop, that they are smarter than anyone else and they are superior in almost every way. No one is as compassionate as they are. Everyone outside of their leftist view -and I mean everyone- is to either be pitied or bullied into submission because they simply cannot be wrong and there are no other possibilities. If you do not agree with them then there is something wrong with you. No other possibility. I see this every day.
There are two kinds of leftists: the ignorant and the ideologues.
The former you can argue with and stand a decent chance of having a reasoned discussion.
The latter, don’t bother. He or she is Deep State.
leftist thinking is explained by their innate sense of superiority over the rest of us. they have led their entire lives thinking that they’re better than everybody else.
if everybody has a certain opinion0 such as pro israel, they MUST take the other path because to agree with everybody else they would admit to being no better than they, which id devastating. therefore they form certain opinions not based upon right/wrong, good/bad, but upon what everybody else thinks, then they take the other side.
look at drag story hours for children, males in female sports, defund the police, and the position is clear. they CAN’T think like you because they must be better.
If these people had ever soaked up any Old or New Testament, they would find their folly unseemly at least, and repulsive and odious at best.
That is why all earthly law and order really boils down to whether or not you accept Scripture.
Proverbs and Wisdom are excellent. And everything our Lord said reinforces the Old Testament.

These are exactly the sorts of arrogant, entitled attitudes I’ve encountered from true-believing leftists, even from some who insist they are “open minded,” “tolerant,” “for the little people,” and even “moderate.” The distorted image they have of themselves is actually disturbing.
Leftists (especially women) think with their feelings. Its always ALL about the feels to them. It always has been.
They are completely immune to all facts, logic and reason.
This is very true. I find them to be naive. They don’t question the media. They begin with a juvenile view of the world which then gets reinforced at university by ‘professors’, whom are still stuck on stupid too, giving them a false sense of security in their opinion. After all, these ‘professors’ are hired because they’re ‘the best and brightest’.
They will teach “all people are basically the same”...which is an immediate attempt to dismantle Christianity as “you can be good without God”. It also means Muslims are just like you and I. They have no understanding of how “right and wrong” are extremely subjective depending on the moral value structure of the predominant religion. That in our culture, you are saturated with Judeo-Christian concepts of morals...regardless if you’re religious or not. It’s all you know, humans tend to not question what is “all they know” - very few get to really live an existence outside their own culture.
It’s an immature understanding of human nature. They also don’t know how to share, they’re only generous with other peoples’ money. The result is the self loving, virtue signaling, narcissistic, and arrogant attitude - where the only reason another person may disagree with them must be due to low intelligence or ignorance, if they only were as smart and educated as them you’d agree. All without realizing the Dunning Kruger Effect, that the opposite might be true.
The rest fall into the sewer of political science (sic), sociology, etc. History does NOT fall in that group because any fair read of history hits you over the head and forces you into the conservative camp.

After college, never the twain shall meet. You will never get a sociology major to think or do the right thing. Their minds are ruined.
Whereas a math or chemistry major wrestled with reality for four years and learned the hard way that reality is pretty much indisputable.
Sociology and Poly Sci majors run from science like Kryptonite and loathe STEM people and anyone who employs their bag of tricks: Reason, logic, fairly employed statistics, etc.
Sociology majors and other such silly people need to have second or third-class status in America. They definitely should be forbidden to vote. Absolutely they should not be allowed to hold any position of authority.

Leftists either believe people are good OR they believe in the perfectibility of man. ie they actually believe they can change human nature.
Its pure folly. Humans are going to be human - always and everywhere. We are no different today in our intelligence or temperament than the first farmers 10,000 years ago or the hunter gatherers before that.
Too many idle rich these days. They have the money, but no appreciation of how it was earned. Or now people just “invest” to make money rather than create anything.
Then a lot of that money finds its way into the hands of organizations like Black Lives Matter, Inc.

I have several of these in my family. They all hold advanced degrees. These are not stupid people - far from it. But they were definitely indoctrinated by the culture and especially in school (one was a sociology major in college before going on to grad school. Another is a psychologist - the profession is riddled with leftists).
As you could have probably guessed, they get their info from the likes of NPR, the NY Times, etc and think anything that contradicts this propaganda is unreliable, or a “conspiracy theory” etc.
Or Hick, Redneck, etc. They actually believe anybody who disagrees with them must be evil or stupid. They can conceive of nothing else.
