A saloon in Idaho is drawing both jeers and cheers for its cheeky counter-programming to Pride Month, declaring June “Heterosexual Awesomeness Month,” billing it as a celebration of all things straight.
“Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here!” Old State Saloon in the city of Eagle wrote in a Facebook post announcing a month of festivities and drink specials.
Every Monday in June will be “Hetero Male Monday,” with a free draft beer given to “any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male,” the bar said.
The bar even put out a call seeking a “professional” judge qualified “to determine if men’s chosen clothing is officially heterosexual,” offering $15 per hour plus free beer as compensation to anyone who “think[s] you have what it takes to determine straight threads.”
Wednesdays will be for couples, where “each heterosexual couple” will receive 15% off their bill.
Thursdays are ladies’ nights–heterosexual ladies, to be precise — with “Her Hetero Happy Hour” promising happy-hour prices for straight women all day long.
The Facebook post drew nearly 2,000 comments within 72 hours, with a well-balanced mix of people applauding the subversive mock celebration and those who took offense.
“This is horribly disappointing. I can handle differing political views. I CANNOT handle bigotry and hate towards marginalized communities,” a Facebook user wrote.
Another person weighed in, “Imagine being this insecure.”

If I travel to Idaho, I will go to this bar. They should sell T-shirts for this on the Interner.
It would be to Old State Saloon ’s advantage to respectfully request
AOC denounce the bar by name and street address on the floor of Congress.......
maybe point it out on a map and mention the hours of operation.

I had two homosexual bosses. Both were out of the closet; one was a decent guy occasionally joked about it, but it wasn’t the sole aspect of his life. The other had no other aspects to his personality except to wield petty power and desperately searched for any possible thing to be offended by. Total asshole. I’m sure there are plenty like the latter.
Went to a work party one time and the ahole and the ahole’s partner came with him. The ahole himself promptly scurried off looking for higher management backsides to kiss. That left the partner and several of my coworkers who sitting in a room with the coworkers talking about predictive modeling. In a lull in the conversation the partner introduced himself as “hello everyone my name is ****** and I’m a gay man.” Like anyone cared. One of my fellow conservative types then asked him. “Is that all there is to you? Don’t you have any other aspects or interests?” I forgot what happened after that, but the conversation did not go on to the gay topic that the partner wanted to push.
The reason that person only wanted to push and discuss the ‘gay’ side is that there is very likely there was nothing else with respect to him that is WORTH talking about.
Not a drinking man myself, but I both applaud and approve of their celebration and wish them all the best with it!
Whenever a white, cis, straight Christian male disagrees with a member of a "marginalized community," it's "bigotry and hate."

Not sure, but this is a brilliant idea that should be copied throughout the nation. We also need a white pride month, a men’s month and a month for all things Conservative based. July should be Independence month.
