Of Homo sapiens, Darwin made only a passing mention on the third-to-last page of the tome, noting coyly that "light will be thrown on the origin of man and his history." That's it. That is all he wrote about the dawning of the single most consequential species on the planet.

Yes.
I did not say that “anyone who believes that (the) evolutionary processes may be incorporated into Creation is ‘going to Hell’”
I didn’t even imply it.
And Yes.
Ken accurately made the same connection to the subject of the thread that I did.
What does that have to do with the possibility of evolutionary processes within Creation?
God's Word is a shmorgasbord.
ENJOY!
I didn’t suggest that at all.
Do you take everything in the Bible absolutely literally?
There’s adaptation, but no evolution. As such, I’ll but it’s complex.
All of these species here have adapted or underwent an evolution to arrive at where we are today.
Evolution tends to imply that there is new genetic information that just happens.
There is some evidence that so called junk dna is really an incredible back up system of all the genetic information that was “lost.”
We are losing some of God’s genetic information if anything.
Yup! Randomly throw hands full of stuff up into the air, and via random access, eventually a working airplane will fall from the sky.
Lots of stuff. Random actions. Complex systems totally expected to be developed.
Trust the science!
Whatever is literal, yes.
Like the creation narrative. That is literally true. Six days of creation.
Like a literal flood
Like a literal fish
Like a literal resurrection of Jesus Christ
Like a literal destruction of the Earth by fire
And like a literal judgement and
A literal, eternal Hell for unbelievers
.
What’s not literal?
Jesus is not literally a door, bread, a shepherd, and he did not literally eat His flesh or ask anyone else to do so.
I can’t believe that Jonah survived in the belly of the ‘whale’; or that Noah housed two of every creature plus all they needed to survive; or any number of other things in the Bible. I have to take a lot as symbolic.
Who decides for you what is meant ‘literally’ or not? Do you follow all the instructions in the Bible literally, like plucking out your eye if it causes you to sin?
Well, there ya go!
Choosing what to take and what to reject- without faith in the power of God.
Does “your eye cause you to sin” - do you not take “the way out” of your temptations? Is the Holy Spirit alive in you? Do you feed your old man?
Do you even KNOW Jesus Christ? Do you have the indwelling Spirit living in you?
You didn’t answer the question.
… and yes! I did answer your question. You just can’t interpret the answer yet.
Who decides for you what is literal or allegorical in the Bible? Don’t you ultimately decide for yourself?
(I believe that everyone alive possesses the ‘indwelling spirit’, whether they know it or heed it or not. We couldn’t be alive and human if we didn’t.)
There’s your BIG problem: “indwelling Spirit” vs. “indwelling spirit”
And I mean B I G problem.
You LITERALLY misquoted me and LITERALLY used quotation marks.
You answered my question. I know the problem. You don’t see it (scales).
If you want to ask the question “What is literally true in the Bible?“ The first thing you need to do is read and study the Bible. You need to have an understanding that only the dwelling Holy Spirit can give you as you read and interpret what it says. 2Tim 2:15
Only then, will you be able to answer your question.

Get back to me or talk to someone whose scales have fallen.
…and “Bye”
Your incredibly SUBSTANTIVE responses, astound me.
You are obviously a ‘letter of the law’ type.
Thanks for the conversation.
