AL GORE please pick up the red emergency phone.
Storm destroys the world's largest floating Solar Panel Farm.
What Valedictorian engineer signed off on this stupidity.
VIDEO AT LINK...................
Really stupid. What did these idiots expect?
Some days the Gulf of Mexico looks like it’s covered in glass as smooth as ice.
The next day it looks like a raging hurricane................
Look at that video. It amazes me that anyone could think that this wouldn’t eventually happen.
That’s a shame.
Idiots........
Thank you for posting an article that gave some important detailed information missing from the original post.
SO often these kinds of things are put up with NO context, such as WHERE.
I had assumed this was off a coast, but it was actually on a river smack in the middle of India. If the river flows, would hydroelectric be the best way to generate power around there? That’s a nice, proven technology that is more or less constant.
That’s a shame...
Criminal theft of other people’s money.
I don’t doubt that a floating solar panel farm that was durable could be constructed, but..
***********
At a much greater cost/kWh.
Hydroelectric works great. However, it is also pretty expensive to build a dam. It takes years to design, plan and construct. It is proven technology that works every time.
It does stop the upstream migration of some fish species.
It also changes the environment upstream of the dam.
The really interesting and greatly underused is micro hydro electric power generation. Especially for off grid homes & cabins. IF you have even a small stream that runs year round you can generate enough power for most of your needs. Then you add solar panels and you can run your house without hooking up to the grid.
*it was actually on a river smack in the middle of India.*
The real question: Who cares?
A net CO2 loser does not matter, Virtue Grandstanding is all that counts.
So the leftists who panic over debris in the water, are proud to dump A WHOLE LOT OF DEBRIS in the water.
Mercury clean up on Solar panel farm bring extra rags and vacuums.
It appears to have happened in India...
They should have attached the solar panels to the soon coming transoceanic railroad.
One would think they could have anchored them to the bottom somehow.................
*Who cares?
I certainly do. If one cares enough that a floating solar farm was destroyed, WHERE is pertinent. If you don’t care WHERE it is, you likely don’t care that it was destroyed at all.*
This is a teachable moment. It was destroyed by Mother Nature. If these things are not taken into account we’ll never learn. Cleanup will be a bitch when you consider it didn’t have to come to this. Think of the water not being released in Lahina.
