The kid actually paid for the TV but would not show the door greeter the receipt.
You all this kid just won a major lawsuit not only against Wal Mart but the police.

“The door checker at my local Walmart knows better than to ask to look at my receipt.”
ditto ... at least when i USED to shop there ...
I used to get annoyed at the receipt checkers, until one day at frys, the receipt checker said, the cashier double charged you for one of your items, lets go get this fixed real quick.
(and they did)
I miss Frys, and wish there was a MicroCenter somewhere near me.
“Costco doesn’t have self-checkout”
our local Costcos have had self-checkout for years ...
BREAKING: Biden's chief economic advisor says the government can't go bankrupt bc they can always just print more money
Then explains he doesn't understand why they don't just print as much money as they need all the time pic.twitter.com/iA4fPP14bK— Jack Poso 🇺🇸 (@JackPosobiec) May 3, 2024
Sam’s Club scans the receipt and several items in the cart. Everyone gets the same treatment. Pain in the butt but not a problem.
if you buy something there, The right thing to do is to show your recept.
Legal or not to ask, just show your receipt and get on with your day.
dont like it? feeling intimidated? feeling its racist? Then You are butt hurt because you are an ass. shop someplace else. Either be nice or stay home. causing a scene Is for babies and karens.
Ours doesn’t have them yet.
But they’ve checked receipts ever since I began using them in the ‘90s.
I don’t know why people have a problem with it. The receipt checkers are always polite, and everyone knows that it’s done.
Showing your receipt is the right thing to do. If you don’t want to; go somewhere else, its just good business.
Yeah, until they slave one of these to it:
"Show Me Your Receipt, Creep!"
If Frys were still open, today would be Frysday!
In contrast, at Walmart, after you have scanned in your items while selecting them, you still must pass through the self-checkout line (on busy days this can take longer than going through a cashier, where your own scan will not be accepted) to scan a QR code on the check-out screen to pay for the items. Often, the screen halts and orders you to wait until an attendant scans all your items again before the receipt for the sale is issued. Then an attendant at the exit still wants to see your goods and check out the receipt for a third wait period. So the Walmart's "Scan & Go" option usually turns out to be a "Scan & Wait" event with the hold-back time being unpredictable but irritating.
The Walmart's process is very poorly thought out, requires several attendants at the self-checkout area, as well as more at the exits, and is quite offensive to an honest customer who is in a hurry, and becomes greatly disappointed when the tantalizing Scan & Go is set up to fail.
The BJ Club process works very well, allows you to avoid the self-checkout interruption, and only requires one attendant at the exit with a hand scanner to validate your phone receipt code bar.
Walnarts will not permit you to speak to an authoritative supervisor, thus you cannot appeal the decision of the lowliest, most ignorant attendant. n
If I wanted to create a little havoc, I’d select the email receipt option and see what happens at the door. I haven’t done that because I haven’t wanted to deal with the possible hassle. Maybe get some $$$ for kidnapping or unlawful detainment because I didn’t have the physical receipt to show. They gave me the option during checkout.
For all those who say “if you don’t like it go somewhere else”, where else?
Is Walmart the only option you have to shop?
I’m betting a lot of those receipt-checkers were mask Nazis during the Covid nonsense. You know, those people stationed at the entrances of stores to bark at shoppers coming in about wearing masks.
It was probably a very sad day for those people when the mask mandates ended.
I refused to go to any of those places back then. I still don’t and I haven’t missed them.
Oh really? This is the hill to die on? “I’m a sovereign citizen and I don’t have to show a receipt yada yada yada gold fringed flag ad infinitum ad nauseum.
They can ask you but you don’t have to show it to them.
No it really doesn’t have that right. Once you pay for it at the register, you own it...period.
If they decide you should be detained for a shoplifting investigation, and then lord forbid summon the police, that is a false arrest and they can and will get sued out the nose.
They know good and well that if they cannot articulate that they saw you select it, bypass the register and walk out that door, they better stand aside.
“Is Walmart the only option you have to shop?”
You tell me K mart is still open in America?
I will not shop Targay
Some places have a “Meijers” but we don’t
What else is there?
It’s not a store. It’s a club. When you apply for membership you must agree to those rules
