That beast went about 4 miles west of my house if the local TV radar was correct. Was very nervous that it was coming in my direction for a while. My buddy down in Lincoln saw the funnel cloud that turned into that tornado about 8 blocks from his office. Lots of damage. Wiped out a large manufacturing facility a few miles east of Lincoln. Another one of my friends’ son drove 100 mph leaving work trying to get away from it. He said it scared the crap out of him cuz it was “really big and really close”
Rather Lucky so far today with bigger cities
The first monster went west of Omaha and zig zagged the most populated areas of western burbs ..
The east monster was getting itself together Rapidly right over the city of Omaha .. and started to produce a funnel right over downtown and touched down near the Omaha airport just NNE before becoming a monster moving into IA
Tornado in Lincoln was reported on the ground at 33rd and Superior, which is 11 blocks from my sister’s house. She and her husband are in WI right now. I hope they still have a house.
0maha is the only place in NE where they vote dem.
And Nebraska has one electoral vote go dem because of Omaha.
Stinks.
Where else can one city decide an electoral vote?
Yeah my buddy’s office is at 27th and Cornhusker. It must have touched down right when he saw it cuz he said it looked like it was just a little bit east of the Home Depot between Cornhusker and
Superior.
My prayers go out to your sister. I hope their place is ok. I live about 3 miles east of Gretna a block south of 370. I think the tornado went a mile or so west of Gretna. That is way too close for comfort. I think we are supposed to have bad weather tomorrow but nothing like this. We have to go to a “diaper kegler” tomorrow for my friends son and girlfriend down in Syracuse. Fingers crossed that we don’t have anything like today.

I feel your pain. You’re right, and I’m sorry.
Amen to that. My son, grandson, and daughter are planning to go to the Red and White scrimmage in Lincoln tomorrow.
I hope Menards wasn’t hit.
Phoenix decided all of them for Arizona.
Tornado warnings for Des Moines area at 8:00pm. Smaller towns to the north have some on the ground.
I traveled through Moore just afterwards in 2013
Couldn’t believe what I was seeing
Texas church I was attending put a team together but I wasn’t actually a part of that effort
One of these hit a few miles from my house.
The last “official” EF5 tornado .. although there is great great debate among weather geeks that the scale is flawed and is so picky that it’s almost impossible to get an F5 and instead we have “upper end EF4’s”
Many of the “upper end EF4’s” would have been F5’s in the past
The now 11 year gap between F5’s is the longest gap in recorded history which gives more credence to those that argue the scale is flawed

Our cattle ranch lost 2 barns and 2 cattle.
Are you in Elkhorn?
This is a serious one, indeed. To me, the Moore tornado seemed somewhat wider, but this one, too, can be God’s own “house chipper.”
Glad it was in the daytime. Prayers up.
