My rule is to do without instead of settling for fake.
If you’re really going to embrace this weird way of eating, accept it and stop trying to enjoy the things you did before.
Think of all the processing and artificial ingredients used to make that fake food.

To be fair, I can’t drink alcohol with my meds, but I’ve learned to accept Guinness 0 or Heineken 0.0, which I guess is even less than 0 🙂
Nitrates is nitrates the filler holding them and all the salts and spices is largely irrelevant.
It’s like taco bell tacos or mcnuggets if it was suddenly replaced with soy protein no one would or could notice the difference being so highly processed in the first place.
Why do people that hate meat try so hard to make their food resemble meat?
Stella makes a 0.0 as well it’s quite good and close to the real thing. Some of the ranch water 0.0 are also good the agave margarita ones specifically. Hanging with the Mormon in laws means 0.0 for the weekend.
Same here. No diet soda, no non-alcoholic (or even light) beer, no sugar-free cookies, no decaf coffee, and above all no fake meat of any sort.

Well, I actually prefer diet soda - the other stuff is too sweet :-)
But in general, fake food isn’t satisfying, and it’s super expensive. I really don’t know what people get out of it except feeling and exhibiting some sort of ‘virtue’.
