At the very least, Hogan could be for Republicans what Senators Joe Manchin (WV), Jon Tester (MT), and Sherrod Brown (OH) are for Democrats. The liberal party owes its current 51-49 Senate majority to these three members from red states.

Ok people. This is where the rubber meets the road. Do you want to win or don't you? This is an opportunity we won't get at any other time. Kudos to him for stepping up to the plate. If he's the 51st senator on our side or the 55th we really need it. I'm not saying you should give him your money. How about your blessing? No room for naysayers here.

Money. I gave $50 to the rino underwear model who took the Ted Kennedy seat for 2 years. Well worth it after 36 years.

Both Hogan and McCormick in PA are avoiding Trump like the plague. I doubt either will win.

yep, we need the majorities when Trump is re-elected, for a long list of reasons.

As a resident of MD he may very well get my vote but, realistically, I don’t think he’s got much of a chance given the absolute rule by Dems in the state and David Trone’s money.

It would be FAR BETTER to see the United States turn into a S-hole country than to allow ANY RINO to prevent that from happening, as RINOs disgust me and therefore my kids and grandkids be dammned, I WANT THOSE RINOS GONE.

(face it trolls here, you know you agree with the above)

I agree. We constantly complain about our RINOs but with the Democrats drifting so far to the left, even a RINO is a welcome alternative to a Democrat in these Blue States. Now if we can just take a play from the Democrats’ playbook and back Hogan up in this campaign. That means holding your fire, folks. The Dems backed up Manchin. When they stopped backing him up, that is when they lost him.

I live in Maryland, and while Hogan did some things I really disliked, I will have no problem voting for him for Senator.

*Both Hogan and McCormick in PA are avoiding Trump like the plague.* I

So did the Va. Gov. He won. Let Trump handle a senator Hogan. I’ll enjoy watching him slap him around. Me thinks Trump would hold his fire kinda like liking Taylor Swift 25% less. You wouldn’t want Hogan to pull a Jim Jeffords.

Hogan will stab Trump and Republicans in the back the first chance he gets. We don’t need another Romney, Collins or Murkowski in the senate. Might as well vote for the Democrat and avoid the disappointment when Hogan shoves the shiv in.

Come on. Murkowski and Mittens are pretty disgusting when we have 50 senators. Collins is the best we can get in Maine-think Kavanaugh. The key is 53+. Think about it.

No.

There is no majority if their policies are anti MAGA.

Vote Democrat in that race. Stop him from achieving the power of incumbency. Erase ALL FORMS OF SWAMP FILTH.

And don’t play the “we have to get things done” card. No, you don’t have to get things done. Getting things done is where $36T in debt came from.

Conservatism is NOT getting things done. Trump in the White House, regardless of Congress, stops things from getting done.

I would count this as a “Bonus”, the Senate will not be so close that his vote is likely to be needed to win or pass legislation, should he win.

Romney is retiring so that’s good, We need a solid 54 or 55 to make sure the usual suspects can’t play their games.. Murkowski, Collins etc. At the moment it looks good that the GOP will gain some significant senate seats this election

With Manchin retiring its almost certain the GOP will win WV senate seat.

Lake should win AZ, especially if Trump wins the state for the Presidency which would be another gain, but now with the Abortion ruling, this could shift things there, we will see.

Montana SHOULD flip R.. but never count Tester out.

Ohio SHOULD be a flip to R as well

So that’s 54 if that come to pass.

MD would be a surprise win honestly, Though he is relatively popular governor, not sure the state will go for him as Senator, but if they do that would put the Senate at 55, and even though he is going to be fare more liberal that most GOP folks want if he wins, with 54 seats, he Murkowski and Collins wont be enough to stop more conservative bills from passing in the senate.

MI is an open election, so could be another pick up depending on how Trump does there... Dem who will likely be the nominee tends to over perform... So for Senate win MI, Trump is going to have to win MI big I think to wind up with R senator winning out of MI.

Hopefully when its all done GOP will have 54 or more seats

Incumbency is a tough nut to crack. Hogan is going for an open seat. Opportunity.

What do we win? A Republican senate passing conservative polices or the same old leftist windbags dumping Marxism with the senate Republicans blessings and votes. If it’s business as usual you support the Marxist Lite candidate to your Republican Party worshiping content, but you will do it without me. A leftist is a leftist is a leftist despite that sacred R in front of their names.

So again I ask: what do we win?

Sure there’s room for naysayers!

You already have posters on this thread suggesting to vote for the Democrat in the race.

We need to accept that some people want an ideologically pure Republican party. And apparently, if that means Republicans lose seats in the process, it’s well worth the sacrifice to rebuild the Republican Party to a more pure ideological party in 5-15 years.
