Furious BLM activists have clashed with cops outside a Chicago police station after a video was released showing a deadly officer-involved shooting of a black man.
Dexter Reed, 26, was killed during a traffic stop which erupted into a huge shootout also injuring an officer and which cops say Reed started.
On Tuesday, Chicago Police released footage of the March 21 encounter which showed them firing 96 shots at Reed, even as he lay motionless on the ground outside his vehicle.
The aspiring broadcaster's death has reignited conversations around excessive police force against black people, though officers maintain Reed opened fire first.
Shortly after the footage was released, around 100 protesters gathered outside CPD's 11th district, blocking the streets and jostling with police.
'We don't need armed police officers to tell someone to put their seat belt on,' one protester told the crowd in a video captured by Fox.
'Dexter Reed's vehicle had tinted windows, so the argument that they were enforcing seat belt laws doesn't make sense,' another added.
Police said they pulled Reed over in Humboldt Park for allegedly not wearing a seatbelt.
But Andrew Stroth, an attorney for Reed's family, branded the police stop 'unconstitutional', claiming the plainclothes cops did not announce they were police.
Bodycam footage showed a plain clothes tactical unit approaching Reed's SUV and ordering him to roll his window down with their weapons drawn.
Reed is seen resisting orders to roll down his window. Suddenly a volley of shots is heard and the officers immediately return fire.

cops didn’t get the memo that black males don’t have to follow the law or orders
Yeah, hooks up has some kids, then on to the next; sometimes wives are involved then like he just takes off ...
Looked like this guy would rather fight it out and die than give up the crack cocaine he had on him... He chose poorly.
Bodycam footage showed a plain clothes tactical unit approaching Reed's SUV and ordering him to roll his window down with their weapons drawn.
Three items packed in that one sentence that raise serious red flags, Why would a tactical team, in plain clothes, with weapons drawn, be necessary for a seatbelt violation?
I would think anyone faced with that scenario, including law -enforcement officers, would be highly concerned that this was an attempted robbery scheme and that these were not police, but criminals.
It's an unnecessary show of force even in a crime ridden Chicago. That being said though, if this is how they must operate for their own safety, than the blame lies in the administration.
I grew some the first time I saw Morgana run onto a ballfield. I was 14 at the time so I would grow some at the drop of a hat.
Admit?
Jail for outstanding warrants or for probation/parole violations? In Governor Fatass Pritzker’s No Cash Bail paradise? Ha! Ha! Ha!
Well, that’s the thing. If he had just complied, he probably would have been home in a few hours.
Oooops.
I’ll claim some FR tradition as a culprit.

Any possession laws, FOID, permit or license requirements are a violation of the rights recognized by the second amendment. Only use in a crime should be punished.
A police SUV rammed (see impact dent in driver's door) and pushed the driver's vehicle front-end to the vehicle's right, and the driver's vehicle stopped against a concrete curb.
Three plain-clothes Chicago police officers approach the left side of the driver's vehicle; all three police officers have their handguns drawn; two of these officers are aiming toward the driver's door.
Of these three police officers, the officer that is closest to the vehicle, is a female plain-clothes Chicago police officer (white baseball cap) who approaches and places her left hand on the driver's door handle. This officer aims this officer's semi-automatic pistol through the opening of the driver's window that is lowered about 50% of the window's travel. [See IMAGE]
I suspect Reed had arrest warrants, felon in possession, and was well known to the cops hence the small offense of not wearing a seatbelt was used to pull him over.
Whatever is burned, even the entire state, it is NOT an insurrection. So there’s that.
2 Chicago Police officers appear to have been shot.
How many times were Bonnie and Clyde shot in an ambush. Don’t recall riots afterwards.
The only thing I care about with these poorly trained 12 week wonders is Citizen safety.
The Convention is going to be fun.
Reminds me of the joke about the 300 Italian sharpshooters who put the last 7 bullets into Mussolini....
plains clothes officers do not make traffic stops, and they always use a minor offense when they want to stop someone like crossing center lane or so other BS. They wanted him stopped for some other reason. The cop approached the car with weapon drawn?
= = =
Is I saw, thier POLICE was on the back of their jackets.
Not on the front, no badges.
I would be afraid of 5 plain clothes guys with guns yelling and approaching me.
