On April 8, for precisely four minutes and 27 seconds, the moon will pass in front of the sun blocking out all light — a total solar eclipse.
The last time this kind of galactic display occurred was in 2017, and although eclipses like this do happen once every 18 months or so, they're usually not visible to people on land.
Of course, what would a global scientific wonder be without an appropriate accompanying playlist? Below, we've laid out 30 Eclipse Songs to jam out to while the moon does its thing.

Marilyn McCoo is so beautiful, and still married to Billy Davis.
Eric Burdon & War - Spill The Wine (1970)
I stand firmly behind my statement, which is my opinion.
Have a blessed day. 🙂👍

Klaus Nomi was so weird but he had a certain charisma despite it all.
Total Eclipse of the Heart or Moon Dance.
They ran the heavy rain up to 5:00 p.m. here in my part of Texas but we’ve got heavy low clouds with the sun occasionally peaking through.
And I was just expressing mine.
Perhaps you think 7-billion-plus people should be shipped around the world for such life-changing events.
I think we’ve far more, higher priorities.
...flew your Learjet up to Nova Scotia to see the total eclipse of the sun...
I never mentioned that anyone should be shipped anywhere, so you are now introducing utter BS into the conversation. It would be impossible to ship even 1-billon people to locations where it could be observed for various reasons, let alone the outrageous 7-billion number to chose to use.
So now you're hyping for the sake of supporting your argument that my statemen was ridiculous, when claims like this are in fact what are ridiculous.
Perhaps I should have stated it thusly. Everyone who has an opportunity so see a total eclipse of the sun, should take advantage of the opportunity.
Would that have placated you? I frankly didn't see the need to go to that extent. But in today's world there is always someone who is offended in some form or fashion. So I guess I deserve what I got from you for expressing my opinion in a way that you found cause to say I was ridiculous for saying what I said.
Fifth Dimension - Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine
You’re being beyond silly here.
I had posted my distaste for those who traveled to such locations for bragging rights for this type of event—and you posted that everyone should have the opportunity to experience such.
So you were offering your take in response and contrast to mine. I merely pointed out that your take would involve the mass shipping of people around the planet for near nothing-burgers.
If you don’t want to debate, don’t offer views to undercut an earlier Freeper post.
. . .remember the 'Harmonic Convergence' ??
RE: Saratoga is probably for the Travers race, Nova Scotia for the total eclipse of the sun.
You’re right. I looked up the lyrics and it says:
Well I hear you went up to Saratoga
And your horse naturally won
Then you flew your lear jet up to Nova Scotia
To see the total eclipse of the sun
I got confused because Saratoga and Nova Scotia were in the same verse. :)
One of my best old pals was really into that for a few years.
Perfect example.
