A psychoactive drug made from human bones is leaving addicts digging up graves in order to get their fix.
Police officers are guarding cemeteries in Freetown, Sierra Leone, after more people are turning to the drug Kush.
It is made from a variety of toxic substances, with one of its main ingredients is ground-up human bone.
Human remains contain traces of sulphur, which allegedly can enhance the affects of drugs.
It first emerged in the country around six years ago and induces a hypnotic high which can last for several hours.
One former user Abu Bakhar, 25, told Channel 4 News he gave up hopes of a music career as the drug turned him into a ‘zombie’.
He said: ‘Because of drugs I did not concentrate on studies. Because of drugs I did not concentrate on writing. Because of drugs I did not concentrate on anything’.
Abu is now homeless and lives on a landfill site among a thousand others.
Sierra Leone’s President Bio said: ‘Our country is currently faced with an existential threat due to the ravaging impact of drugs and substance abuse, particularly the devastating synthetic drug Kush.’

There may be a premium for drug maker to buy up cheap bones.

Last time I had a chemistry set there was a vial of sulphur. If they really need it that bad they can buy a chemistry set.
Also, we could tell the zombies that the drug is made out of bones of bigfoot- it would at least keep them busy for awhile, and who knows how many new species they might discover?
They will soon start killing people to get high off their bones.

here is an older article on this. For a drug addict living in a drug den the usage is expensive. Thus it creates a cycle of robbery. Much like addiction in the US. Except at least in the US there are social programs that do provide money unlike West Africa

My neighbor has smoked since she was 14 — is 75 now.
Two years ago she had one leg amputated above the knee.
Last year the other one was amputated above the knee.
It’s from something called Buerger’s Disease, caused by smoking.
Last year was diagnosed with lung cancer. Went through chemo.
Last month was diagnosed with liver cancer. Started chemo yesterday.
Other neighbors see her on the back screen porch, still smoking. During the blizzard this winter, there she was, huddled up and smoking.

In the 90’s there were reports of a drug called Jenkem, also from Africa, made from fermented human waste. I think it was just a hoax. This sounds similar.
US has a zombie drug that is flesh eating.

There are definitely Kush Boys robbing graves for bones but a cursory search does not find anyone who has forensically looked at the drug to see if it does contain bones.
