They try to make this emergence of both types to be some sort of apocalypse. Fact is their territories don't converge, so it will be the normal 17 year thing if you're in their area.

The song of the cicada is like ASMR to me, not as relaxing as the dishwasher or clothes dryer as I nap on my flex-steel recliner after my post lawn mowing shower... in winter the pilot light on the propane fireplace is nice to, subtle but relaxing. I hope the bloom makes to my area, but it might not.
