Meredith Whitney, deemed the “Oracle of Wall Street” for successfully calling the financial crisis, says home prices are likely to fall substantially, and the reasons have to do with habits picked up by young guys.
“You have men staying single longer…and then you have what I call a growing crisis of the young American male…they’re twice as likely to live at home than women. So one out of five young men live at home with their parents, and these aren’t young men going to college and coming home for holiday breaks, these are young, grown men choosing to live at home,” Whitney told CNBC this morning.
The outcome could have profound effects on the housing market, she said.

As long as young males have jobs and pay rent to Mom and Dad, young single males living at home seems like a good decision to me.

Financially, marriage does not usually make sense, especially if you are the primary earner, male or female.
Of course, if you are family oriented, and you truly love your spouse, then, all the big decisions are completely obvious.

Men in their 60’s and 70’s are staying single because they’ve either been there and done that already, or because it was getting to be a little too close for comfort for them to do all over again or to even have done it in the first place.

I told my 2 daughters at 18 they get a one-way ticket to where they want to go. They’re both doing great and each gave us 2 awesome grandkids. All conservative, ones an Army veteran who married an Army vet, the other works DoD with a Marine boyfriend.

i was happiest at age 12, no bills, no car, no women, No Obama care, no credit card, no money, very little stuff, My bike, my friends, the great outdoors. = happy.
We have some friends with kids the same ages as our. Currently 25-33 years old. Ours were all gone by 19 or so. All live independent lives, None are married yet. One is engaged, another might be in the not too distant future. All strong Christians and conservatives. Our friends kids all still live at home. Their oldest did live on her own for a year or so and is engaged. All are Christians and Conservatives. Two have very good jobs. One has been a perpetual student and seems to be a lifer at McDonalds.
The last time we talked, the parents were saying how expensive it is to get an apartment. I said “So? My kids earn about what yours do and they all afford them.”
I think they finally set an ultimatum to force them out. ten years too late.

I wouldn’t be so certain. When a critical mass of young men are angry and have nothing to lose, they often change the world in unexpected ways. And women can’t do anything to stop them.
all sorts of issues with a man living at home beyond college, the main one being how it will affect his ability to date and eventually find a mate.
But there are exceptions.
But a man needs a steady job, his own place and a car to attract a woman.
If you don’t have at least those 3 things, and are finished with college, you are handicapping yourself when it comes to relationships.
Foreigners buying up homes is the only thing keeping housing prices from collapsing.
My own theory is based on the number of bathrooms in a home.
If a home has only one bathroom the children will start to move out much sooner (i.e., younger).
Even a non-self-respecting young man doesn’t want to endure the inconvenience to which I have alluded.
Family size (i.e., number of children) is also going to be a factor IMO.

When the civil rights act and similar legislation was sold to the U.S. in the 60’s and 70’s, the stated goal was to remedy real past injustices to a small group of people (blacks).
This group made up 10 of the population and the negative consequences of enshrining into law “special rights” for a very small, very poor group of people didn’t seem too bad.
But then it got expanded to all minorities.
Then it got expanded to women.
Then it got expanded to religious minorities.
Then it got expanded to perverts.
Now, these “special rights” are afforded to EVERYONE in America except a very small group of people...straight, white, Christian (or non-religious) males.
When you have a situation like that, it is extremely harmful.
And young women could choose to be feminine over being sluts.
Why should young men settle for femnazi s with a body count that’s huge?
These same heifers all think they are deserving the 1% of males and are constantly willing to dump a good guy to trade up?
Why should a guy risk his hard earned wealth for ungrateful women who divorce them cause of “feels”
The economy sucks . Owning a home is fast becoming unaffordable for most. Whose fault is that?
Mandatory DNA testing should be in every state because of how many women cheat, then rob a man of his genetic line.
Get rid of no fault divorce. Get rid of the me too movement

We let the left destroy every meaningful pillar of our civilization. It’s an absolute FAIL on older generations to allow the destruction, but blame the victims.
Conservatives need to own the fact we’ve allowed traditional families to be trashed and men to be dehumanized.

funny you mention that. Today I had my initial, first-hand experience with squatting. My neighbor's sister, who I also know, has a squatter in their house. They are a retired couple who just bought a condo in S. Carolina and were preparing to sell their old home in New York, when the weather got better. I know the house well, because I grew up just a few blocks from there.
