A State Department official resigned Wednesday and has since gone on a media tour blasting President Biden’s “horrific policy” toward Israel, accusing the administration of enabling “a genocide in Gaza.”
Annelle Sheline’s resignation from the State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor is the most significant public departure from the department since last October, when Josh Paul, a senior official in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, announced he was calling it quits.
“For the past year, I worked for the office devoted to promoting human rights in the Middle East. I believe strongly in the mission and in the important work of that office. However, as a representative of a government that is directly enabling what the International Court of Justice has said could plausibly be a genocide in Gaza, such work has become almost impossible,” Sheline, who worked as a foreign affairs officer, wrote in an CNN op-ed announcing her resignation.
“Unable to serve an administration that enables such atrocities, I have decided to resign from my position at the Department of State.”
Sheline also spoke to the Washington Post and has done interviews with CNN, CNN International and “Democracy Now!” since stepping down.
“I was not planning initially to go public,” she told CNN’s Jim Sciutto Thursday. “I was only at the State Department for a brief time. But when I started to tell people that I was planning to resign quietly, they said, you know, please reconsider, please, please go public if you’d be willing to. So I decided I would.”
“I do think that public pressure is why we’re starting to see the administration shifting here,” she added.

“He has erected a multitude of New Offices...” - Declaration
Well, bye. I would have you and all of your family deported. It is time for someone to step up and STOP all of this foolishness.
A pearl-clutcher succumbs to his fainting couch while hard men look at Hamas and say, “No more.”
“the State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor..”
President Trump should eliminate this useless entity on his first day. Fire the entire lot of them.
L
There it is.
If it was really a genocide, it would already be over.
It isn’t, so, it isn’t.
Amen. The more of these Islamophiles self-deport the better.
Election choice ahead for Dems: killing babies or killing Jews.
“Election choice ahead for Dems: killing babies or killing Jews.”
I think they’ll vote for both.
Nice to have help smoking them out.
“I was not planning initially to go public,”
Yea, sure, sure.
So in this person's view, Israelis don't have human rights. She has been dehumanizing Israelis from October 7 until the day she quit.
Sleepy via Barry O’s shadow government allowed funds to be given to Iran. That’s how Hamas got a lot of funds for their tunnels and weapons.
They should give Sleepy credit for his part in supporting Ham Asses intifada against Israel.
Why only a couple? Why haven’t all those Jew-hating, U.S. Government EMPLOYEES resigned yet? Those who don’t resign need their Jew-hating asses fired. Israel, not the Hammies is our friend.
Some very young woman who just got out of college in 2018. In college got her degree in Middle East studies. Extremely thin and hidden bio. Probably involved sexually with a middle easterner.
If we could get the rest of the state department to resign, we’d be doing so much better.
Good. One can only hope that more weak nitwit leftists resign everywhere.
1. I am willing to respect a principled resignation. That is an honorable course of action, even if the person is wrong.
2. This lady is so wrong, so intellectually and morally compromised, that the State Department is better off without her. I only wish that hundreds of others followed her example.
Good riddance I say.
