I made it for several years, going back about 15 years. It’s easy. You need to mind it though or the scoby will run away and turn into a blob. I would give it a hair cut every so often to trim it down.
It could range from pucker inducing sour to super sweet depending on the tea you use,how much sugar you use and how long you allow it to ferment.
Did I lose weight ? I don’t recall, but I was not trying to.
I would eyeball it it take a sample taste and go from there.
