Almost NO ONE who now calls me is a native English speaker, and has NO phone skills. Low volume, sloppy script, and no supervisor who can relay and intelligible message. The same goes for service desks.
When I get a professional, AMERICAN English speaker, it just makes my day.
Discover Card also has very knowledgeable American representatives. They even tell you where they are from when they answer. Hi, this is John from Kansas, can I help you?
Ask for an English speaker. You have that right.
Call random numbers in India and tell them their car warranties are expiring...
PatriotMobile is a stellar exhibit in USofA-based support. Have only had to interact with them a couple of times, but it’s refreshing to speak with folks who communicate well.
Hang up on them!
They never make it through my spam filters screw them
The rest, not worth the time to wait on them because they are unintelligible and worthless.
I love that only a few Western Countries use [Given Name][Surname] syntax. So I’m always getting the help people calling me “Mr. Bob.” LOL.
You can blame that on the high cost of doing business in USA.....pensions, medical care, living wages, EOE, OSHA, EPA, etc...tons of regulations. If a company was smart, they could place willing well speaking Americans in other lower cost of living countries, pay better wages than the natives, and employee has much lower cost of living.
I knew a lot(not all) of Filipino nurses who told me that they don’t mind if husband has girlfriend under the following conditions..
1) He pays for wife’s and children’s care and living expenses
2) Doesn’t bring home diseases
This is OK for them cause “boys will be boys”
I recently had to call a 24 hour center associated with my local bank. The woman answering my call spoke such mangled, incomprehensible English, I told her that I couldn’t understand a word she was saying and therefor did not trust to speak with her any further. Hung up on her and waited until regular bank business hours so I could call my local bank direct. THEN I was able to speak with someone who spoke perfect English.
I was told the exact same thing!!!
Yes, and I believe it is on purpose.
I also believe they understand my English exactly.
If I respond back with questions like ‘did you mean this . . .’, or anything actually, it gives them information and directs the path of their script.
Hello, I am from health care, how are you?
I’ve been vomiting all morning.
OK Good, we have a gift card for you and free senior mobility device.
Give me (all your ID) and we will send it.
OK, send it to the address you have for me. Thanks. Hangup.
Yes, 99% of calls are by Indians sitting in India.
Until they get old, plus from what I’ve seen, you marry and house the whole extended family.
I think that’s a good bet.
Especially the family part in Asia.
Old is pretty universal.
Though some countries seem to produce beautiful women that last.
Ask them what time it is?
Look at world timezones and Shazam, you know where they are.
When I get a call that is not identified as a scam, and the caller is Indian, I ask them if they are in India. They are not expecting this, answer Yes, and I ask them to have someone in the US call me. Rarely, but sometimes, I get a follow-up call from the US.
I set mine up so only my call list goes through.
I was getting more than a dozen calls a day for Medicare.
