I am sorry for her loss, I know SIDS was a concern in the 60's and 70's, but it disappeared in the 80's till covid.

Shot history? Sounds like independent autopsy called for.

They developed a lot of protocols about how babies should be positioned, bedding types, etc.

Heartbreaking stuff. An acquaintance had a 13 year old daughter. She came down with what they thought was the flu. After two weeks of illness, they went to the Doctor. Nothing conclusive. She continued to deteriorate, and was hospitalized. Within another two weeks she was gone, with nobody having been able to diagnose what was going wrong. Wrecked her folks, understandably.

The article doesn’t mention the obvious.

I hope that means that no sane parent would jab a 2-year-old. But who knows really?

In the late 70’s they advised parents to not let babies sleep on their tummies. They suggested that in some cases it could interfere with breathing, I believe. I haven’t seen that statistic that the deaths had dropped.

But I can’t even comprehend a parent vaxxing a young child with an experimental toxin.

Heart-wrenchingly tragic. I cannot imagine the pain. Having said that, not one word noted about the baby’s Covid vax status. Look, I know SIDS is a very real and unexplained thing, but heaven forbid it were my child, I would leave no stone unturned and wouldn’t care one whit about politics.

Very sorry for their loss.

It’s been over a decade since that terrible day.

For everyone who apparently just scanned the article, this happened prior to 2014.

Regarding SIDS, at two, babies are walking, and easily strong enough to turn themselves. It’s only babies under 6 months who are as yet unable to reposition themselves that are most at risk. At two, this toddler would have naturally been changing positions as she slept. This is just “One Of Those Things”, an unfortunate happenstance.

It may be linked to febrile sezures, according to recent research.

I witnessed my son have a febrile seizure many years ago., at around 20 months. Vomit welled from his mouth, no heaving or retching or struggling - he hated to vomit. I turned him on his side. He was limp and unresponsive and then he started going blue. I picked him up and shook him a bit, thinking, phone, CPR, both, how, breathe... and he started breathing.

There was no flailing or shaking, no noise. I might not have even have noticed if it weren’t for the vomit, even though I was in the room with him.

Imagine an unwitnessed seizure lasting two minutes longer. He didn’t even have a high fever.

My heart goes out to all parents who lost a child like this. I don’t think there’s call to blame vaccines or Covid vaccines, unless the numbers have gone up. And don’t blame the parents and think not me, I am too smart to be in that place. There is no perfect shield against misfortune and grief.

Long ago, I read about the caution when applying baby powder on the very young. Their lungs are small and can’t handle much powder.

SIDS didn’t disappear.

It happened in our family in the 2000’s.

Saddest thing in the world is a funeral for a little baby. Makes me sad now just thinking about it.

I had an employee that it happened to in the ‘90’s. It was brutal. One the entire family, extended family, and her close friends.

My parents lost my sister at age 4 to SIDS, although there really wasn’t a name for it. This was before I was born so I never saw her other than her grave every Memorial Day.
My parents never got over it. My mother was very protective of us kid (me/surviving sister) and my dad, who was an avid photographer, put away all of his gear seldom taking photos later.
So sad, too bad it’s not better understood, but I suppose there are multiple ways for it to happen.

A couple of other things about not hearing about SIDS any more — one is that most people have stopped smoking in the house, or they go outside to do it. Another is that doctors started advising moms in the 80s and 90s not to put a lot of stuffed toys or puffy bumpers inside the crib, and not to put the baby on its stomach to sleep, but instead on its back. I think these two factors have helped.

The only “crib death” I have heard about among friends in the past 20 years was caused by parents sleeping with the baby in their bed, and the child suffocated. This can happen when the parent rolls over on the child, or the child is surrounded by pillows and covers and mom and dad.

A parent’s nightmare come true. So sad. I can’t imagine the pain. Every parent would gladly law down their lives for their children.
