Anybody have a vibrating football game as a kid? (See picture in thread.)
I remember the hockey game being more enjoyable after we narrowed the width of the goalie. Before that, if you played to goalie right you could keep someone from scoring. I suspect this game died out because of foosball. The problem with foosball is it seemed to be become just a goalie versus goalie game.
You had street lights?
Mom had a cow bell ...
“You need more ...”
Yup. Set up the players, hit the switch and they all run to the sidelines to kneel for the National Anthem. What a ripoff.
We had the hockey game like that. It made a much quicker game if you used a marble in place of the puck.
Right.
I was a fooseball fa-reak starting when I was 12, playing the older kids.
A good front line player with a lightning pull or push shot was tough to defend even with a correct staggered defense and fast reflexes. Low skill goalie forget it.
Z shots were hard to defend (never mastered), but a crack snap from the goalie that all but vanished smacking the far end tin backstop was always loud and impressive!
Still can walk up to a table with game.
Can I play? “Sure old man.”
I’m a ringer.
Thanks for the memory.
I had one and it was a piece of crap. Players would never go straight, they vibrated all over the place and in circles....LOL!
Seems like it had a kicker for field goal attempts.
Can’t remember how many times the opposing players wound up doing a hose-e-doe.
Yeah.....I think setting up the players was the highlight. When you actually turned it on.....well, it was kind of a joke.
I remember having one... total junk... but a classic nonetheless!
The original PlayStation. Honorable mention. AFX race track. The old hockey games that were similar to fuse ball. My favorite the Evil Kenevil stunt cycle.
I’d like to see some sales figures for the Evel Knievel stunt cycle. Seems like every 1970’s kid had one.

D’oh!
Had it. Was bored after a while. Looks and sounds cooler than it was.
That was my experience. Took painstaking time to set the men up, flip the switch, and - bam - they went everywhere except where I had planned. Sometimes two guys would lock arms and forever spin around.
Ha! I got one when I was about 15. Setting it level on the dining room table was a headache because of the sloping floors of our old farmhouse. We found a spot on the floor that was close to level. But my younger brothers were rough housing and fell on it, which ruined the thing
Reminds me...
I had one as a kid. Fun to watch. Never seriously played it as a game.
Another football game was a backlit box that you inserted offense and defense plays into. Where the films overlapped to let light through showed where the runner or receiver was downed.
All before I could appreciate them.
Reminds me of the old School House Rock about Interjections: “Hooray! I’m for the other team!”
