Anybody have a vibrating football game as a kid? (See picture in thread.)
I received a vibrating football game for Christmas one year as a kid very similar to the one pictured. I'm curious if anyone else ever had this game/toy. What was your experience with it, besides perhaps, electrocution.
yes
...and the hockey game with the turning slider players.
My little brother had one. It’s still up in the attic in the original box. I’m sure some of the football players are missing.
Vibrating football. Something the wife can enjoy as well.
Can’t remember if I had one myself, but I do remember having played if before and found them to be totally worthless. As a result, I didn’t care much for it. 🤣
Electric Football! One of my all-time favorite toys. Loved looking at all the EF goodies in the annual Christmas Wish Books.
With some practice you can learn to tweak the bases to make them perform better. There’s an entire subculture dedicated to the game.
The field model you posted is one of the coveted versions, IIRC.
Sure did. Could never get it to work the way I wanted it to.
L
Yes, when not doing laundry.
I don't remember how it worked or how you could actually get a basket.
Tudor also made a baseball game.
They started out with horse and car racing games.
There's a book: The Unforgettable Buzz.
My little brother had one. It seemed that my dad and uncles were more interested in setting up magnificent plays and then everything went off the rails the minute it was activated. They still had fun.
Peach
I had one, though I’m not sure it was the same as the one in the photo. Mine was permanently damaged when an old woman stepped on it just a few days after I got it, when I was about 10 or 11. Her shoe made a dent that affected the motion of the little men.
I had one of those. Of course, that was in pre-woke times. None of the players ever took a knee to support a political cause.
However, some of them did walk off the field. Maybe that’s the same thing.
Same...either went in circles or went the wrong way.
My brother, born in 1944 had one, but it was far older than the one in the pic. Didn’t come with any fancy stuff.
I had the football game, the hockey game, and a basketball game that used a ping-pong ball.
no we played outside till the street lites came on
Yes, I did, and it was fun.
My basketball game had about eight or ten holes in the floor, slightly smaller than a ping pong ball. The ping pong ball would roll around, stop in one of the holes, and then you would shoot the ball by pulling a lever on the side of the basketball court.
The players moved randomly and often in the wrong direction.
Maybe we didn't play it right.
My brother and I had one. I think we got it used. It stopped working after a time.
