The truly interesting part is around the 2:26 mark where Kirk notes that the State Police Revocation Enforcement Arm is getting increased funding. Not doubled. Not tripled or quadrupled.
Quintupled. From $2 million to $10 million.
That is disturbing, because there aren't five-times the amount of gun crimes nor five-times the amount of FOID revocations that we've noticed anywhere. As far as we can tell, FOID applications are at all time highs and renewals so intense that the ISP delays are running afoul of statutory requirements.
So why five-times the amount of money?

Second City Cop site has been a good source of inside information on Chicago PD happenings for many years.
Our attention should be focused here, not in Moscow.
Deep State has to steal Illinois elections...
But isn't IL supposed to be a blue state...? 🤔
If they were going to enforce legitimate Constitutional gun laws such taking guns away from violent felons and gang bangers, this would be a good thing.
But we all know that’s not what’s going to happen...
Go read it all - a 38% error rate in voter registration totals and a 14% error rate in vote totals.
Wow.
Blue state, my gluteus maximus.
So would people who do so stop saying IL voted for this.
They very likely haven’t for a while.
Are the state police gearing up for “assault weapons” confiscation”
If they are not, they will be replaced with people willing to do it.
Unless we restore our republic.
Blue state? Yes due to vote fraud and corruption. The Demscum aren’t even bothering to hide it. Reminds me of the Daley machine but state wide.
I now doubt Illinois is actually now a blue state in terms of voters.
“As far as we can tell, FOID applications are at all time highs and renewals so intense that the ISP delays are running afoul of statutory requirements.”
This has been the case for years. While renewing my CCL a couple years ago I actually got ahold of a very nice lady who worked in the renewal section. I learned that there were only 4 people handling both the CCL and FOID renewals for the entire State. Two them were out on medical leaves.
According to her, and I had no reason to doubt her, they had to process over 60,000 renewal applications a month.
So I’d tend to think most of this funding will be going to that. There aren’t enough Illinois troopers to even think about any attempt at organized confiscation effort. And it’s just my opinion but I doubt very many of them would go along with it.
L
From what I recall a very very low percentage of gun owners actually followed the new registration law.
When they begin the confiscation they better begin recruiting for replacements. Some might just leave figuring it might be dangerous. Some may stay on and find out why the others left.
Hasn’t Chicago always been the home of political corruption in the U.S.?
Sometime tells me that they won’t be going into the South Side of Chicago to confiscate guns. In fact, they will probably target those “crime ridden” suburbs on the north side instead.
For years there were huge delays in issuance of FOID and more recently CCL’s. State Police were chronically understaffed for this function. The law has specific time limits and I believe recent court rulings have forced compliance. I think that’s all this is. No gun confiscation from the law abiding...at this time.
Make gun confiscation an act of suicide.
There, I said it.
“Hasn’t Chicago always been the home of political corruption in the U.S.?”
Oh yeah! Daley stole election for JFK in 1960. Chicago/Cook County votes always come in last after the democrats find out how many votes thay have to come up with to win.
If that happens, every Illinois State Police officer becomes a legit target. “And how we burned in the camps…”
