One of the most amazing episodes of the original Outer Limits TV series is The Inheritors. Robert Duvall stars in it. While science fiction, it is one of the most down-to-earth stories. No weird aliens or bugs. Whenever I see or read about Duvall, I think of The Inheritors. It is actually a two part episode, so it is almost a movie.

Whatever you feel about science fiction, watching The Inheritors will not disappoint.

He was in a great ‘Twilight Zone’ episode, too, ‘Miniature’.

Don’t know his politics! That ALONE makes him one of my favorites.

He doesn’t talk a lot about it, but:

He's about to out-last Abe Vigoda in years.

I’ve liked everything I’ve seen him in, but my favorite has to be ‘Secondhand Lions’. Great performance by Michael Caine, too.

Michael Caine — one of my favorites too — is 90. Bob Newhart is 94.

“Lonesome Doves” was his best .

He is also great, along with Tommy Lee Jones, in the “Lonesome Dove” miniseries. Far and away the best thing I have ever seen on TV.

One of my favorite movies too. My favorite scene-the salesman trying to sell Caine and Duvall the skeet shooter AND SUCCEEDING!

Every time it’s shown on reruns, I watch it.
Nothing in the past 15-20 years even comes close to it.
