(slightly corrected lyrics)
I met a sad old gypsy on the road to Berlin By chance I got to spend a little time with him We shared a few life stories on that dusty old train So I thought I'd take a minute To share them again with you
He talked of all the twists and turns he'd taken in life And how his spirit clung to God to do what was right Sure he got the prize but he never counted the cost I felt his pain as he shared with me all that he had lost
If you could only see what was there in his eyes An eternity of wandering in search of the prize He'd had it all, the money, all the fame and romance And now he shed a tear as he faced the last dance
The blessing comes but once he said But it's not for you, it must be shared And if you keep it to yourself You'll be no use to anyone else
And he who gives will take away And you will face the same dark day That even now is all my pain I'll never have this dance again
Chances, dances, how quickly this life passes All our hopes and all our dreams Get lost in all our selfish schemes You see, it's not about you, it's not about me It's about loving something we can't see It's all about what we are willing to share It's about our hearts and who lives there
As the train rolled into the city He shook his head as if to say It's your turn now, just know the game That you're about to play
And it seemed as if right there and then A light came to his eyes As he exchanged the dance of life For a far better prize
And so the tired old gypsy drifted slowly away Beaten by the game he'd taught so many to play He said "I'd do it all again if I had the chance" But I'm ready now for one more bow I'll take the last dance
(Ken Hensley)
I have lost a Father, a Mother, a Brother, a Wife and all my older relatives. It is a fact of life. No one gets out of here alive. Remember them, praise them but life goes on. One day all of us will pass. Enjoy the life you still have and let some one else morn your death.
Ken Hensley - The Last Dance (Live)
Pretty Song, sorry for your pending loss.
My dad lost his younger brother who was 16 years younger than my dad. My Uncle thought he had a bug in his ear, but it turned out to be brain cancer. Within a 6 month period he passed.
My dad's younger sister had a firecracker thrown at her. It caught her dress on fire and she burned to death running & screaming to her house where my grandmother saw her die out the kitchen window. She lost her two younger children before she passed. I'm not certain about her age, but I believe she was less than 10 years old when it happened.
Life has its sad & happy times. Live life to its fullest to avoid regrets, but even then regrets creep in anyway.
May God bless you and your brother. Lost my second of two older brothers two years ago. Leave now to try and see him so at least you tried.
Sincerest condolences. š
I am so sorry, especially at this time of year...
Prayers up for your brother, you and your family. Safe travels in Jesus’ Name. Praying your brother knows the Savior and is ready to meet Him face to face. My dad just died on Thanksgiving so I can relate.
So, so sorry, Paul. I lost my brother, on Dec. 1, 2018. Many prayers going out to you and your family.
I received a call on Christmas eve from my sister-in-law. She told me that my brother had passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He had had problems for some time.
For what it’s worth. He lectured me that I should get the jab. He meant well. I can’t believe that the jab helped him, or anyone.
Sorry for your loss.
So sorry Paul. I’ve lost a dad, a mom and a sister but not a brother yet. I know that one’s gonna hurt.
Stay strong man.
Iām so sorry; I offer my sincere condolences. Losing a sibling, especially a close one, isnāt easy. Been there and done that three years ago, also during the holiday season.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I also send up a prayer for your safe travels. God really does help us to get through things like this.
Iām sorry to hear this.
My brother did something suddenly this past Sept. It was health related, nothing unexpected really, except the timing.
It was harder than I thought. Prayers up for you.
Iāll keep your brother in my prayers, donāt you worry.
So sorry to hear!!
Will keep your brother and family in my prayers, for healing and comfort!!
Asking God to comfort you.
And to heal your brother.
Nice tribute, Paul and prayers up for you and your brother.
I hope that sorrow doesn’t sit too hard on you.
Condolences.
Prayers for Your Brother and the Family.
God, bless you and your brother -— until you meet again
