I am not sure where to get vitamin and mineral advice particularly ratios. Pcp sends me to nutritionist who is clueless. Osteopathy? Naturopaths?
I understand now that ratios od vitamins D magnesium and calcium have to be looked after to not demineralize bones or clog arteries.
Your thoughts appreciated.
I will leave this here and come back to it later.
I’m 87 and my health is excellent. I take 13 pills every morning, one of which is a prescription drug. the others are nutritional supplements, which my MD literally prescribes, making them deductible medical expenses. The one exception is a pill my friend’s naturopath recommends for blood pressure and it really works. I have blood pressure like a teenager. “Carditone,” available at Amazon. It’s made from some kind of flowers.
I’ve been taking this pile of pills every morning for 50 years, with a few additions since then.
Most MDs have no clue about supplements. Mine didn’t either, but I gave him a list of what I take and he looked them up online at WebMD.com. If that site said they were valuable, he prescribed them. I think he has his family on most of these supplements now.
A site worth looking at is. Dr, Axe. https://draxe.com/nutrition-category/supplements/
He gets his info on supplements from Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University where research on health, vitamins, etc continues. Linus Pauling, a chemist and researcher who won a Nobel Prize for, as I recall, biochemistry, is the reason I started taking supplements so long ago when I read his great book, How to Live Longer and Feel Better. His advice in that book cured my very weak little boy, and I’ve been taking supplements since then too, of course adding to the ones he discusses. He’s a huge Vitamin C proponent and I have been taking one gram of C daily most of my life. In the last 15 years, I had one cold that lasted five days, handled with over-the-counter meds f0r symptoms.
I get supplements at AMZ because they are, of course, cheaper than in the stores.
If you take calcium, don’t buy pills. “It’s like throwing at brick at a stone wall” some writer said. I get Bluebonnet liquid calcium/magnesium available at all the health stores here and at AMZ.
I’ve heard that a DO is a better choice than an MD for your doctor. They learn everything MDs do but in addition, study prevention. I met one here and he was delighted with all the stuff I take.
Gotta take the Vitamin K with the D. For every 1000IUs of D or D3, take 100mcg of K2-MK7 and 100mcg of K2-MK4. Or eat a whole bunch of Broccoli or Spinach with some fat.
Too true and varies over time and health status. VA sucks blood nearly every visit and seems to alter my vitamins each year. They seem surprised at my continued survival six years after throat cancer (a bit disturbing) but I believe it's due to good fitness, balanced diet, life-long vitamin supplements and good beer (in moderation).
Minimizing stress and avoiding hateful feelings have also helped tremendously. Now to stop getting agitated over these trolls here! Their punishment is that they have to live with themselves - LOL. Merry Christmas to all.
more likely, beware of mainstream medicine. their entire goal is to suck you into the system and keep you there with tests, biopsies, procedures and drugs. they are NOT about healing.
You can post your questions on at my website www.demified.com. I would be happy to help guide you.
BS! There are volumes of good Data showing the efficacy of various vitamins, minerals, herbs and nutriceuticals. Many are, in fact, are superior to pharmaceuticals...
So much differing info from so-called “experts”.
“BS! There are volumes of good Data showing the efficacy of various vitamins, minerals, herbs and nutriceuticals. Many are, in fact, are superior to pharmaceuticals...”
All written by paid influencers to fool the gullibles ...
“BS! There are volumes of good Data ...”
No data. Just sales pitches.
I only get vitamins and supplements from health food stores. Often the clerks there are well trained, but supermarket and drugstore clerks are predictably clueless or not willing to say anything.
When you have chronic illnesses like I do, there is no healing anyway. You can only treat to make sure they don't get worse.
“The mushroom vitamins were expensive but her cancer cells started shrinking after about sixty days on the mushroom based vitamins he put her on. Her cancer doctor was surprised since he had expected the spot on her lung to have grown in size.”
I did the same thing with Hep C. They were going to put me on chemo and I started taking the medicinal mushrooms which cut my viral load in half in two weeks. Doctor wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I told him and put me on chemo anyway.
“I only get vitamins and supplements from health food stores. Often the clerks there are well trained, ...”
I always get my medical advice from minimum wage clerks!
Yes, I agree. At least 100mcg of K2 is mandatory, forgot to list that.
God said: I sent my Word and healed them, and delivered them from all their sicknesses
God said: who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases
God said: He healed them all.
God said: By His stripes we WERE healed
If you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you have already received healing as part of the atonement. Not just salvation.
Again...BS!
Generally speaking, health food stores have higher quality vitamins and supplements than grocery stores or pharmacies. It is always best to do your homework before you buy. Find a trustworthy holistic physician to help you out.
Like Government EV Sales Pitches? A fool and his money are always parted.
Plenty of Published NIH Studies on the efficacy of various vitamins. Don’t need a sales clerk.
