5700-year-old monumental Menga Dolmen reveals it as one of the greatest feats of Neolithic engineering

Located near Antequera in Malaga (Andalucia, Spain), Menga is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site consisting of three dolmens constructed between 3800 – 3600 BC. It is one of the largest megalithic structures in Europe and was built on the top of a hill with giant rocks. It is renowned for its enormous orthostats or vertical stones, one of which weighs nearly 150 tons...

Using petrographic and stratigraphic analysis techniques, the researchers discovered most of the stones were calcarenites... The researchers write in their paper that moving and building a dolmen from such large, massive but fragile stones would require careful planning and very complex engineering work. This is especially true of the keystone, that is, that large rock that was somehow placed on top of the chamber and still serves as the roof of the dolmen.

Calculations made it clear that it weighs about 150 tons. Scientists say lifting it and placing it on top of the camera would require scaffolding and strong cables. To transport such blocks without damaging them, very smooth roads would be required, which would have been difficult to imagine 5,700 years ago.

Furthermore, modern scientists have concluded that ancient engineers developed a method that allowed smaller stones to be installed along the edges of the chamber. It is assumed that they reliably protected the dolmen from sewage and prevented erosion.

In addition to pinpointing the origin of the Cerro de la Cruz quarries and tracking the logistics of transportation, the study sheds light on the extensive planning, labor coordination, technical expertise, and calculations that went into building Menga.

Spain is a very interesting place for archaeology. I wish the sea level was 400 feet lower because that’s where the real history lies somewhere off the coasts Spain.

Not sure about that, unless there’s a back door for quick duckings out. :^)

If one reads (1) the Greek accounts in the original Greek, not English translations, you will find therein that the master builder Hephaestus had two Giants Cyclops working for him, actually building giant structures for him.. The Cyclopean walls in Greece are, as Homer described them, as “well-built walls” using a very unique original Greek word just for that type of walls.(2) If one couples that with Enoch descriptions good giants piling huge block of stone to imprison another bad giant and (3) Solomon`as use of a jinn to move the Temple foundation stone it to Jerusalem, and (4) Pashto oral tradition telling of Giants, descendants of Nimrod, [”Nimrod built cities*” ] hiding in caves west of Khandahar to this very day , one comes to the conclusion that ancient Greek and Hebrew sources speak of giants moving and building megastructures. Thus it cannot be mere coincidence that two ancient accounts and one modern day account describe the very same thing under discussion and in reality as a megalithic structure. Even a third grader can figure this one out. One has to read it in the original Greek to acsertain the meanings of the words in context. Modern-day translations are not done by engineers nor scientists nor architects but by scholars who know nothing about engineering,
science nor archutecture.
*”Genesis 10:9-12
Cush was the father of Nimrod, who became a mighty warrior on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.” The first centres of his kingdom were Babylon,
Uruk, Akkadand Kalneh, in Shinar. From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah
and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah - which is the great city.”

The King`s Chamber is 40 feet high, perfect for a giant.

I personally interviewed 5 Pashto elders concerning Giants, Nimrod etc., during the Afghanistan War with Russia, after they warned me not to go west of Khandahar and after I asked they why not. Before this, the thoughts of giants in Afghanistan never even crossed my mind until they mentioned it.

Some of the temple blocks in Egypt weigh 200 tons, which is right in the ballpark [150 tons] for this Spanish megalithic structure.

The myth of the cyclops originate in the finding of fossils of mammoths. Belief in giants is old, but remains a superstition.
