From dating sites to phishing emails, bad actors are taking advantage of artificial intelligence to create more realistic scams.
They are now infiltrating dating apps to try and create a fake relationship, and eventually trick victims into sending money. Scammers are using bots at scale to create a massive number of accounts. Then, they'll utilize AI to chat to victims in a completely authentic way, Kevin Gosschalk, CEO of cybersecurity company Arkose Labs, told FOX Business.
With AI, they "are able to… perfectly speak to a person to the point where they feel like the victim is kind of on the hook," Gosschalk said. "Then they hand it over to a human operator to kind of do the final half a mile in terms of figuring out how to scam the person into giving money."
This is a trend that Arkose Labs, which helps businesses with bot prevention and account security, has seen pop up over the last few months.
Gosschalk said it's also emotionally devastating because certain victims will get comfortable sending money when they are deep in a relationship.
Another issue is that phishing scams have become more realistic. Before AI, phishing messages or emails were traditionally created with broken English, which made it easier to detect when something was fake, according to Gosschalk.
"We're now seeing them use generative AI to actually craft better-looking messages," he said. "The grammar they use now is basically perfect."

We will all be assigned a number type ID that will be imprinted on our skin or via implanted chip to prevent scams.
I get between 3 and 13 scam emails a day. They are far from realistic. Imagine getting an Amazon email that had no graphics. They aren’t even trying. Maybe thats the point. It filters out the ones that would be harder to trick.
“With AI, they “are able to… perfectly speak to a person to the point where they feel like the victim is kind of on the hook,”
Yeah, but the phone AI systems STILL can’t do anything remotely useful.
I take advantage of all these free offers and the UPS and FedEx guys get tired of delivering all my free stuff.
And get that guy "Elon"! He is so busy making things that I just don't know how he finds time to sleep.
I am finding more and more articles that had to be written by AI. Weird punctuation, word usage not quite right, repetition.
Between the search engines no longer returning anything that is not approved by “brought to you by Pfizer” and half the content being AI-generated, the Interwebs are becoming pretty much useless.

Every week I get an email that my master card with XXX credit union will be blocked if I don’t respond. I don’t have a master card and I don’t do business with XXX.
I fear that AI scams are going to become so good that even those of us who consider ourselves savvy about avoiding scammers are going to fall victim.
My favorite ones concern my webtv account.
I still use @webtv.net in my email address to the spammers think that there are actually admin folks at webtv.
There are not.
The great AI scam resides, at times, in the White House.
If you go look at his nomination acceptance speech you will see the first of many.
And I am convinced he has more than one stand in, Not Joe’s.
Bump
Which thus includes digitally making any figure (real life representations or otherwise) the user wants as well as doing or saying anything (in any language) the user or script writer wants such to. And esp. (as was/is the case with computers) AI will be extensively but damnably used in creating porn.
Which will be so exponential in scope and ability that it will result in a whole arm of government being implemented to control such (esp. when a fake video of lawmakers comes into view). I saw a basic example of such in in the dated faulty rapture film (but I believe that comes at the end of the Trib.) Megiddo: The Omega Code 2. In 28:34 to 30:31 (to provide context) and then about 45:19 to 47:21.
In addition, AI will be used by business to allow the creation of certain custom items, including homes.
In short, AI will be an reality on the scale of the Industrial Revolution in the cyber world. But which will be used to justify removing anything political the Left does not want.

And how easy AI could be part of this:
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. (Revelation 13:14-15)
I don’t answer any calls where I don’t recognize the number.
And if I get a text claiming it’s from the bank. I call the bank or go in inn person and talk to them.
The best scam ever starts out with...
...did GOD really say...
Matthew 24:24 KJV
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Your fears are well founded.
Or more readily accept them!!
Or more readily accept them!!
Not if they are paid enough.
