Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that all women will have to face genital examinations if biological men are banned from competing in female sports.
The 'squad' member spoke out at Tuesday night's House Oversight Subcommittee on Health which discussed the topic of gender participation in competitive sports.
AOC, 34, said there were multiple proposals that would marginalize transgender Americans and claimed that questioning athletes' gender would open up women and girls to 'genital examinations'.
'We are talking about opening up all women and girls to genital examinations when they are underage, potentially just because someone can point to someone and say, I don't think you are a girl,' Ocasio Cortez said.
'And we're saying this in an environment of a post-Dobbs America,' the New York Democrat said. 'Where states are criminalizing access to abortion and want nothing more than data on women to figure out when, who's getting a menstrual cycle, who doesn't have one, and we're supposed to believe this is going to make us better and safer?'
'I think not, and, per usual, I don't believe we're sitting here on a panel of men that has actually thought about the biology and privacy consequences of all women, trans or cisgendered,' AOC finished.
Rep. Summer Lee - who is the ranking member of the House Oversight Subcommittee on Health agreed with AOC, saying that women testifying against biological males playing in women's sports is 'transphobic'.
Women's sports advocate and NCAA swimming legend Riley Gaines hit back 'if my testimony makes me transphobic…your opening monologue makes you a misogynist.'
Lee quickly moved to have Gaines remarks withdrawn for 'engaging in personalities' rather than the substance of the debate.
'I move to have the gentlewoman's words taken down' Lee appealed to the chair.
After a brief pause in proceedings Lee withdrew her point...

Not sure here. We live in a world of competition. But the excuse was for the opportunty to compete because there were no programs for the girls. When they started opening up funds to create girls’ only programs are they not discriminating? Another problem was the same funds were being used so it also effected the boys’ programs with less expense being applied and in some situations programs either not being created or others removed. If the girls are in it for the competition, then compete with what is provided. And I agree with you in that if they have the capacity to play, then they will get their chances. But school sysems if they are to do the job complete cannot cut funds to create earmarked programs for certain people that already may be provided. Do we cater to the rich or race based or religious based programs. That’s the ret And if the program is going to be provided, then it either is coed or both genders get one. Then we’ll see how much the federal government is going to shell out for activities that are in a vast majority of the cases not being considered for a profession.
And besides, the equal rights amendment only guarentees equality for both genders. What’s more equal than competing coed...in all sports provided?

WHY is that bad? I had to undergo a physical as a male before I could participate in sports which started at the Jr. high level of competition.
