‘That is not what he said.’

he said ‘I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters...’

other than the fact that the context of the two sentences is identical, you are absolutely correct...

Time for us to make our money count, and send a message to the woke companies.

I’m on a first name basis with several employees at 2 different Home Depots in my area. I’d have a frequent flyer card, but they don’t issue them...yet. Tonight I have to go get a new track for a bifold door closet. This morning, the door fell out of the track onto me. Not good!

WOo! Hoo! I spend hundreds of dollars per month at Home Depot.
I think I need to ramp it up a bit. :)

You might not need a new track; you might just need to replace the pin atop the door that slides along the track. I did just that last month: I used a 3/8” dowel and everything works fine.

They got me for 1000 bucks on much needed milwaukee tools for my shop (doing what we can to save bucks and stay afloat) although honestly, I think they were loss leaders.

I normally buy my appliances, lumber, lighting and hardware at either Home Depot or its competitors based on price. I will now buy only at Home Depot regardless of prices.

They wouldn’t know what an Allen wrench was.

but they're pretty sure it should be taught to third graders with explicit pictures.

That door has been a problem since I bought the house. The track is probably like 66 years old. As the door slides down the track, the wheel rotates inside the track and is changing the height of the pin sticking up until it's too low to stay within the track and falls out. I had precariously balanced the door within the track when I had to leave for an appointment this morning. When I returned, I saw that my very large Maine Coon cat had pushed the door out of its precarious position and it was laying crooked. Got to fix that! The track is about 49" long. I have to see if HD has tracks that long.

Ah, sounds like a simple fix is not an option. Good luck with your project.

I measured the existing track and it seems to be 49" long. I don't know what the standard sizes were back in '58 when the house was built, but now, you can get tracks 30", 36", 48", 60" and 72". Would you use a 48" track?

Well, it depends on the width of the door. If the door is 49” a 48” track would likely not work. In which case I’d go with a 60” track and cut it down to 49”. But if the door would fit inside a 48” track that might be the way to go. What is the width of the door opening? Another option, depending on the width of the opening and the door, is to go with the 48” track and use furring strips on the inside of the door jambs. It all comes down to the dimensions.

That's what I was thinking myself. I am looking at the sizes of bifold track that HD sells. I see that they sell a 60" bifold door track for 4 doors. Where would you cut it down so that you don't eliminate any essential holes or stuff?

Cutting the door down is generally not a good idea, because modern doors are usually hollow core, and you can lose the stability of the edges.

No, you misunderstood me. I meant cutting down the TRACK, not the wooden door!

The context is not at all identical. One says that if he randomly shot someone in that place it wouldn’t be someone who voted for him.

The misquote means the opposite.
