When we sold our house we had garage sales, then craigslist, then come pick it up and finally putting it out on the street for pickup. Packed up to move for a short two year period until full retirement, more garage sales, more giveaways.
Finally moved to the house and still have too much stuff but down to only a few boxes of memories from travels, letters and photos and the kids events. It did feel good to be relieved of all the other stuff.
My home is not part of a market.
It’s my home.
The federal government controls airspace.
It can shut down the airspace within 70 miles of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, New York, Boston, DC, Chicago, Miami, etc.
Airline flights would have to originate & terminate from now struggling cities like Utica, Flint, Peoria, Youngstown, etc.
Many corporations would relocate to where the airlines relocate.
Housing could be built where LAX, Logan, JFK, O’Hare, etc. now are.

Hell since this country has happily slaughtered millions of unborn babies why should it be out of the question to move seniors into all those cozy apartments they re building next to rail tracks and bus stops? Then if they get sick, instead of taking up hospital beds or using critical medicines, just volunteer them for assisted suicide.

My friend Sharon has her son living with her. He recently got divorced. He is not happy and neither is she.
Sharon pays the bills on the Florida home of her brother. Sharon had a huge place on a double lot but sold at what was a good price a few years ago. Unfortunately, the buying power of money has taken a beating under Biden.

I have mixed feelings about the millenials.
On one hand, they do have it tougher. They inherited a world that now requires both people to work to support any family. They have a much more difficult time finding someone fairly normal if they just want to have a normal, traditional life. Many, judging by friends of my son, have completely given up on ever owning a home, at least at this point in time. Rents are super high, so saving half a million for a decent down-payment is out of the question. Even with that amount of money down, mortgages are still expensive enough that they’re trapped living in a money pit.
Having said that, I see them wasting money like mad fools. Some of them have most or even all meals delivered to them, via uber eats or something like that....apps on their phones. They squander away money for silly entertainment, spend hours on video games and in general seem lost and complacent.
It’s difficult to know exactly what has happened to them, but they sure didn’t inherit the world we did, or the skills and drive to navigate it.
I don’t think it will go as far as hosting Illegals, but you will have to at least host Americans* so as to free up apartments for our 8 million ‘new arrivals’.
*of course the term ‘Americans’ is no longer what it used to be and hosting Illegals might now be preferable.
