It was nice going into retirement and moving from a big house in a big city to a small house in a small town, less to clean and repair but more garden to play in.

Downsizing is a major effort for all the seniors I know. It's especially hard for those with just-in-case mania -- they can't stand to throw anyone away: "My family once gave away a long-unused parakeet cage, and the next day we rescued a parakeet from the curb of our house."
Let's face it, some seniors measure their worth in the amount of stuff they have.

Selling a house is an expensive and annoying process.
Packing and moving is a big hassle.
