That sounds like the dumplings I make.
They don’t always wake me. I sleep through things too. I guess it depends on how tired I am. When my babies were little I had their bassinet right by my bed for months because I was afraid I’d sleep through them crying.
Lol, some southerners don’t use the term affectionately. But I’m not a redneck. I’m a Californian and Texan mixed. I don’t care where people are from.

Around these parts. It’s not a good thing since people are still mad about the War of Northern Aggression. But I think as a canadian, you don’t qualify.
Probably not good to be called a Yankee. It depends on context. Sorry. And it is really bad to be called a damnYankee. All one word. DamnYankee.
It’s not so much where someone is from; it is how they act.
Yankees use phrases like, “Up in [name any northern local] we did it [whatever it is] this way ...” And they proceed to be all superior in their better way of doing things.
Here, we literally speak to almost everybody we see if there is an opportunity. We carry on as if we’ve known them all their lives. My dad, who likes to still be active, cannot carry his trays or plates at a buffet. He cannot open doors for himself. People jump, actually jump, to help him out. On Saturday, I paused for breath at the top of some stairs at a concourse on my way to that very sad, sad, sad travesty of a football game. A young student came rushing over. “Are you okay? Do you need some help?” A little boy after that very sad, sad, sad travesty of a football game was sobbing inconsolubly. He was ignoring his parents. I went over to him and asked if he was crying about the game. He nodded. Tears were flowing down both our cheeks. I said, yes, it was very sad, a very sad, sad, sad travesty of a football game, but that it wasn’t the end for Auburn people and we just rise above. We’ll win again because Auburn is more. His parents were nodding in agreement. I was his honorary grandmother at that moment.
I think many southerners are like this. We’re friendly. We’re family.

Well, I think it’s that dastardly egg that I add to make sure they stick together. It makes sure they don’t stick together by turning them into something nice and firm....like the surface of the moon. Lol they look quite adorable, but fluffy and light.....not by a long shot! I ate 3 in my soup, and they tasted fine.
