I’m so tired!!!
Cooked all morning, found the serving dishes I hadn’t seen in a year; set table, etc - ate - then cleaned up from 6-9.
For one meal!!
Oh I know that’s not what it’s all about. It’s about the leftovers! Turkey sandwiches tomorrow!
And the kittens love loved all the little turkey pieces that I spent half an hour picking off the bones. I’m cheap.
So I finally get to sit down and check in! Hope everybody had a wonderful day! I look forward to reading about it.
Sorry, forgot to Ping you. Hope you had a great day! Sounded like you were going to have a full house at somebody’s mother-in-law? I could have quite follow the relationships even though I am from Tennessee now
Oh my goodness, what a special kitty. Reminds me of Edsel from the first litter. They were in the laundry room with a large baby gate keeping them in. I came home one day and it’s always strutting around the kitchen like he owned the place. We still don’t know how he got out.
“Are the mini pecan pies hard to make? “
Those were the easiest thing I made this year. They only had four or five ingredients. When I get the energy to roll off the couch and get downstairs I will get the recipe for you.
How was your turkey day? Were you able to stay very long?
It was a nice day and as usual I ate way to much and now I feel miserable.
It was at my grandson’s inlaws house. His wife’s family. He is the oldest son of my youngest daughter. He has 3 children Some of my great-grandkids. Did you follow that? lol :-)
It does seem like an awful lot to go through to have it done in a matter of a few minutes. That is to eat it. Takes days to get it ready and then do the clean up is a big chore.
Did you say before that you had invited people to come? How many finally came?
“Did you follow that? lol :-)”
Actually I did!
“Did you say before that you had invited people to come? How many finally came?”
3 came for dinner, 2 more for dessert.
but I made too much, especially desserts and bread. But those are my favorites so it’s ok
Wow norsky.....that was fast, wasn’t it?
Sounds like you gals had a great day! That’s so nice. It does seem like a lot of work for one meal, but I think the “work” part of it is sometimes as much fun....once it’s all over, that is.
Sounds like everyone had a great dinner. I had leftover sausage and potato chips lol. Couldn’t be bothered making anything lol.
“We don’t have VICTORIES anymore!”
yup, no more winning. :(
Hope you had a great day!

We got a history lesson from the male host at dinner today.
We were informed it was not orginally called Thanksgiving. It was called “Harvest”day and was celebrated after they had brought in the last harvest. They were supposedly celebrating for the hard work they did in bringing in the Harvest. Somewhere along the line it became Thanksgiving and then a certain day was set for it.
So all you that prepared a bountiful meal give yourselves Kudo’s. But don’t forget to thank God for what he has given us.
sweet!! that baby is interested.
when the leaves were falling, I just happened to take Sable and Cadbury out. They ran for their lives when they saw the leaves! Sable especially has wild cat instincts - she could’ve thought they were birds of prey. or just something that could hit her. Cadbury follows her lead a lot.
I waited until the leaves were safely on the ground before taking them out again, lol!
They are so cute watching the snow fall. :-)
” I had leftover sausage and potato chips lol”
that actually sounds great!
open a bag, nuke the sausage, viola! dinner! so much easier.
*”Did You Know The U.S. Capitol Was Regularly Used As A Church Building Throughout History?”
Yes I did and those who say America was not founded on Christianity needs their heads examined.
Friend of mine who owns a small farm, tells the story, about who (I don’t remember maybe his dad?) used to cut the heads of 2 live chickens a day and throw them in the yard for their 2 dogs.
popular sport in Ireland is hurling.
Who in their right mind thought giving Irishmen sticks was a good idea ?
we were watching the dallas - reskins game in the recliners and my wife comes in and ass me if i was sleeping.
I said heck no I was watching the game.
The rest of the family started laffin...in unison they said not only were you sleeping but you were snoring.
Too funny.
Hope all y’alls Thanksgiving was blessed.
Lol now that’s the sign of a successful Thanksgiving dinner! Snoring away in the recliner as the football game was going on....sounds like another Rockwell painting!
