(Oct. 22, 2023) — Vivek Ramaswamy Admits in NBC News Interview His Parents Were Not U.S. Citizens When He Was Born. This was deduced and suspected previously but he has finally admitted it.

Vivek Ramaswamy admitted during live interview in Sep 2023 on NBC News that neither of his parents when he was born were citizens of the USA. Also, he admitted that although his mother later became a U.S. citizen his father never did. Watch the interview starting at about 26:08 into the full interview: https://youtu.be/toiiWWFsWOw?si=EMOuYOGT93CmiKP or see the relevant four minute excerpt of the interview at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM4UpgZ6sQA.

Vivek Ramaswamy is thus NOT a “natural born Citizen” of the United States. To be a “natural born Citizen” of the United States one must be at least a second generation Citizen, i.e., a person born in the USA to parents who were both U.S. Citizens when their child is born in the USA. Vivek’s mother became a U.S. Citizen several years after he was born. Vivek’s father has never become a U.S. Citizen. ... continue reading at: https://www.thepostemail.com/2023/10/22/vivek-ramaswamy-admits-in-nbc-news-interview-his-parents-were-not-u-s-citizens-when-he-was-born/

Chester Arthur was born in 1829
14th Amendment Passed by the Senate on June 8, 1866, and ratified two years later, on July 9, 1868.

Adjectives mean something. Born in the term tells us “When” the person became a Citizen. The further adjective “natural” tells us how one gained their citizenship, i.e., via the Laws of Nature and Natural Law, not man-made laws, acts, or treaties. The founders and framers considered simply being a “born Citizen”. However, they rejected it and chose instead the Natural Law kind of Citizen, a “natural born Citizen”. See the history of that here: Constitution Day – 17 Sep 2023: A Lesson from History. Is Being a Born Citizen of the United States Sufficient Citizenship Status to be President? The Founders and Framers Emphatically Decided — No It Is Not!: https://cdrkerchner.wordpress.com/2023/09/17/constitution-day-17-sep-2023-a-lesson-from-history-is-being-a-born-citizen-of-the-united-states-sufficient-citizenship-status-to-be-president-the-founders-and-framers-emphatically-decided-no-i/

Of course, the Act of 1790 was repealed, just like many others that came after it.

I refer to the Act of 1790 only to the extent that, embedded in it, is a definiton of what constitutes natural born — one born of citizen parents. Here it was applied to people born outside the country whose parents were citizens of the United States.

And I repeat myself: The natural born citizen requirement is part of the Constitution and can’t be changed unless and until it is amended by the appropriate steps of the nation. No federal judge, no Supreme Court ruling, no bill enacted by Congress can amend the Constitution.

“In the act it inaccurately defines “natural born citizen”.”

No, nah, it did not define the natural born citizen inaccurately. I, and millions of others, were taught by professors in college with PhDs as someone born of citizen parents.

I don’t know how that idiocy about defining natural born got started.

While Chester’s father, Reverend William Arthur, was foreign born, he had immigrated to the United States from northern Ireland when he was 18 and had become a Baptist minister.

Northern Ireland did not exist when Chester Arthur's father was born in County Antrim.

William Arthur graduated from Belfast College before coming to America. He studied law before becoming a preacher.

I did not find any material on when/if Rev William Arthur became an American citizen.

William Arthur emigrated from Ireland to Canada, not the United States. William Arthur migrated to the Province of Lower Canada on date uncertain, circa 1819-1820. Lower Canada would now be in the Province of Quebec. Chester Arthur's mother Malvina met his father while William Arthur was living in Canada.

William Arthur was naturalized 31 August 1843. Chester Arthur born 1829.

Vivek Ramaswamy is NOT constitutionally eligible for the office he seeks!

I've pretty much assumed that when I first saw him. The point is moot, because he'll never get past the primary, but I do like some of his positions, and I think he'd be a useful addition to a Trump administration.

And here is a page from a 1817 law book which specifically says that Vattel was the source for "Citizen".

Let me once again provide the title and author of that book and page.

Judge Samuel Roberts, the Court of Common Pleas of Pennsylvania, was the sole author of the book, A Digest of Select British Statutes. There were no co-authors. The book is a recitation of British Statute Law by Judge Roberts.

To be a “natural born Citizen” of the United States one must be at least a second generation Citizen, i.e., a person born in the USA to parents who were both U.S. Citizens when their child is born in the USA

The article is incorrect. To be a NBC, one must be a citizen at the time of their birth and not need to be naturalized. This can occur via two conditions: 1) born in the United States - Amendment XIV, Section 1, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution directs that all persons born in the United States are U.S. citizens. 2) or born outside of the US but to a US citizen at time of birth. For more details see - https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-h-chapter-3

So, according to your article:

My two grandfathers were born in 1893 and 1895, in Brooklyn and Meriden, CT, to four alien parents.

When the War Department registered them for the draft in 1917, both of their draft cards gave three options for citizenship: 1) Natural born; 2) Naturalized; 3) Alien.

Both were classified as natural born.

“ prevent any American born American citizen from running for president.”

There’s nothing in the Constitution about “running for President”. That’s because there’s nothing in the Constitution about Presidential elections.

If the NBC clause were ever to be used, it would have to bar an inauguration of a person found ineligible under that clause.

The 35 years of age requirement in Article II, section one, clause 5 was ratified in an era when the average life expectancy was around 35 years or so.

The average life expectancy was low because of infant mortality, once you survived infancy you had a good chance of living into your 60s, 70s, and 80s. The age requirement was based on something else, probably maturity is my guess.

Somebody’s got the receipts!!!

Well done.

D’Onofrio helpfully brought that document to the fore in 2008. This of course was after a Chet Arthur biographer had unearthed it, not necessarily knowing its import. Before that, nobody knew.

The two-parent born in the USA “requirement” was never there. That is based on a bad translation of Vattel made AFTER the Constitution was ratified. Vattel used ‘indigenous’ and ‘native’, not NBC.
