Gansevoort, N.Y. — A search continued Monday for a 9-year-old who disappeared Saturday night while riding her bike in a state park in Saratoga County.
State police issued an Amber Alert Sunday for Charlotte E. Sena, who was last seen at Moreau Lake State Park camping site in Gansevoort around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Law enforcement search efforts began around 7 p.m. Saturday and are continuing today.
New York State Police has issued an Amber Alert for a 9-year-old girl, Charlotte Sena, missing since early Saturday night from Moreau Lake State Park in Saratoga County. Anyone with information should call the New York State Police at (518) 457-6811 or dial 911.
State troopers have been joined by forest rangers and other first responders.
Charlotte was with her family for a camping weekend at the park. They live in the nearby town of Greenfield in Saratoga County where Cena is a fourth-grader in the Corinth schools.
The girl was riding her bicycle with her cousins around a loop at the park, and she decided to ride the loop an additional time by herself, Gov. Kathy Hochul told reporters at a news briefing at the park Sunday afternoon.
When about 10 minutes passed and Charlotte didn’t return from her ride, her parents started looking for her, troopers said.
State police and additional law enforcement and search and rescue teams conducted an “exhaustive search” of the park over the next 14 and a half hours, which lead to the Amber Alert being issued at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, said Lt. Col. Richard L. Mazzone, state police assistant deputy superintendent.
“We felt that after that exhaustive search when we couldn’t find her here, it was quite possible an abduction had taken place,” Mazzone said.
Hochul met with Charlotte’s parents Sunday morning.
Charlotte was just elected as an officer for her school’s student council at Corinth Central Elementary School. She and her family were having a typical day of camping, the governor said.
“I just want my daughter back,” Charlotte’s mother, Trisha Sena, the Albany Times-Union reported Sunday.
She described her daughter as “a good kid” who is “trusting.”

Hopefully there are businesses with video of ALL vehicles going into or coming out of the state park.

Start with a breakdown of the demographics of Saratoga County, pull a list of the sex offenders from Saratoga and surrounding counties, narrow that list down to the offenders who had previously victimized similar persons, and then check to see which of those offenders have not followed through on all their probation-parole requirements.
If any are even tangentially associated with the family, hunt them down.

This reminds me of a Law and Order SVU episode (locum) where a 10 yr old girl disappeared from a park after another kid asked her to play..turns out the other kids father wanted a “wife” so he took her..Hope this little girl is found safely
Many years ago, a neighbor used to drive his daughter to school rather than allow her to wait by the mailbox as virtually all of the other kids did. We all thought he was paranoid at the time ....
That was my first thought. Pretty much everything is caught on a camera somewhere. I remember the case from last November when four college kids were murdered in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho. Locals, and internet sleuths, began all kinds of wild rumors and conspiracies. Turns out law enforcement was on the trail with cameras from almost day one. The Probable Cause Affidavit is fascinating for how they tracked the alleged murderer. I'm hoping this little girl makes it home to her family.

True dat and excellent point. I have zero knowledge of that park or housing surrounding it or in the vicinity. I would hope the investigators are searching through all “nearby” home security videos because, as you point out, “you never know”.
Is it possible that a predatory bear, wolf or cougar ambushed her? Those parks do contain critters!
Yes, it is possible and this is the bears’ gorging season to get ready for winter hibernation...........................
There would probably be signs of animal footprints, fur, blood etc.
That likely would have left blood sign.

This state park is 15 minutes or so from me. Not likely a bear. I thought they said they had signs of an abduction, like possibly the bike she was riding was "tossed" behind some bushes by the perp to throw off the eventual LEOs in pursuit. The amber alert phone warnings were going crazy on Sunday, half my golf group got them. I would believe the perp drove into the park and thus drove out, so hopefully they can eventually get footage. Hopefully not too late for this young girl. We need to start punishing people, if this perp was a known offender, there's blood on the judicial system.
